No author put his/her name to the blurb on the RPD site. It is just a “what’s up” with the CJB case from the RPD cold cases unit. They identified a guy via DNA left on a letter he sent in 2016 wherein he claims he faked the CJB letters. Only that that this guy mailed a letter in 2016 where he made that claim. Implied is that he was mailing other “Zodiac” letters also, if you continue reading the blurb.

Did police search his residence and find anything incriminating? No? Did the man offer any evidence which clinched that he created and submitted the CJB letters? No? Did the man claim to fake other other letters? Yes.

But for some investigators this is enough to conclude that the creator of the CJB letters is conclusively found, case closed, meet you for ‘tinis later. That is not a tenable and logical conclusion.

CJB case is still cold and under active investigation on the RPD website.

That was too much!

@russ-thompson dude…give it up already. Riverside police posted it to their page today.

And now you can apologize for your earlier idiotic suggestion that I hoaxed it to sell books.

Can you prove that the writer of the CJB letters has been identified? I am not asking for a weblink to a discussion. Doesn’t matter if Jesus himself posted a weblink to a discussion.

Irrelevant. You tried to make it appear as if I made it up to sell books. But now there it is, at RPD’s website. Obviously you were wrong. Now it’s time to apologize like a man.

By the way, were the hoaxer’s extremely menacing and terrorizing letters not themselves a crime?

Maybe, California Penal Code 132 PC and 134 PC cover the offering of false evidence and preparation of false evidence.  Penalties include 16mo to 3 years in prison and $10k fine.  I don’t know if said evidence has to appear in a court of law in order for the penalty to be enforceable though.

Of course, who knows.  It may not be worth the DA’s time.  I’m assuming these letters, if they are indeed hoaxes as Riverside PD has reported, then they’ve cost the city way more than $10,000, so it may not be worth the expense to them.  But I don’t know.  I just wish they wrote a better Press Release.

I don´t take this as fact until it is officially publicized and also explained, plausibel and in detail, why it is should be considered a hoax.

Hi, english is not my first language so please bear with me :)

They’ve added it to their RPD website.

Are you talking about this one?

https://riversideca.gov/rpd/about-contact/operations/investigations-division/cold-case-unit#spotLightCase

Because I’ll agree it is incredibly confusing what they’ve written.  But it is on their official page.

I get the feeling some people don’t want this to be true, maybe because they are so invested in a POI (Sullivan for e.g.) that they can’t now give it up.

You did that all by your lonesome pal. You should apologize to everyone here in this forum for your inanity.

That was too much!

What Zodiac killer letters do people here think they could be referencing? I think if it was one of the official ones they would have said something. The hoaxer said they did it to keep the case alive. So it has to be the more recent ones when things were going very slow in terms of Zodiac mailings. The press release also says a group of letters, plural.

So my guess is the Atlanta 1981 ones. Also because of how they were written.

Obviously though it isn’t the Zodiac because he can’t write like the Zodiac anymore.

www.zodiachalloweencard.com has a 400 paged book for free containing the super solution with an overarching explanation of the cards and more.

Mr. Voight has point blank refused to confirm that the CJB letters writer has been identified. If that is not what Mr. Voight is trying to imply with this latest claim, then what in foo is this attempt at kerfluffle all about if not publicity?

That was too much!

And Mr. T has already begun to resort to ad homin attacks on me to distract from his inability to offer any evidence.

I’m sure this is familiar to all of you.

That was too much!
