I’ve always felt that Cheri might of had a connection to Z. Many murderers often have their first victims as being the most personal to them. A person who Bates knew would likely have been more trustworthy to her. Not to mention the killing was much more aggressive than his later attacks. Did he have anger towards Cheri?
What about you all?

My thoughts: Cheri had no social connection to the murderer.
While it is possible the murderer knew of Cheri well enough to target her, I doubt the murderer was anything more than someone she might have seen in passing. Not anyone in her social circles.
That was too much!
