A minor (?) consideration: did detectives fit the watch found at the crime scene to "Bob Barnett’s" wrist? Same for footprints.
i think you would find four or five groove locations on the watch that my hold DNA. one would summise if you had two or three same dna hits it would be the same man/woman. i agree external swabbing pointless. Unfortunatly time may have extinguished the life structure of the dna to be of any use.
These locations could be located by taking the glass front off and swabing in the join/groove, remove the backing plate swab around the join, inside the holes of the wrist band. inside the loop of the swivle on the wrist band and also in the winding mechanism internally on the thread.

Yes, that is true. However all of the blood evidence belonged to Cheri (Mains had seen a pattern he felt could have been from her attacker).
A couple of years ago or so, Michael Bates was asked to give a sample of his DNA and he complied. From what I understand, either he or Joseph shed the male DNA found on her clothing.
I was discussing this with Kenneth Mains today.
The male DNA Mains referred to was found from the drop of blood…not from the mvaced pants. "It was not familial DNA".

Yes, Michael Bates got swabbed back in late 2016/early 2017. Not long after his father, Joe, died.

They tested two blood drops on her pants…one from the front and another from the back. He also said they got DNA from the watch.
These tests are the ones that got done during the documentary–not speaking for previous years.

Sorry i was being facetious. Given their track record if somebody walked into the station, admitted to the crime, and then had matching DNA to what has been recovered. They would probably believe that he was invloved, the upcoming police reports will certainly make for interesting reading.
