The handwriting evidence in the CJB case is truly compelling,especially the desk top poem,my gut feeling is Zodiac was involved!
Cheri’s case really is a mystery wrapped up in an enigma!

Cheri’s case, above all, has the most evidence in order to solve it. I do think someday there will be answers.

Whether or not Cheri’s murder is connected to Zodiac is not all that important. What IS, is fingering her killer. This was a brutal, cold-blooded crime that ended the life of a beautiful, intelligent young woman. This case deserves to be solved on its own merits.

A good chance to put your POI forward Morf and maybe a few people may remember some things about ross and what happened to him. I’m sure if a story is written the journo would accept some input to make his life easy, and the story more interesting. The link to zodiac the cop who was bad.. And maybe get this site mentioned so that anyone who remembers the time could drop in and offer their opinions.

Interesting, I hope the 50th aniv brings attention to Cheri’s case,and maybe, new leads

I will be heading the task force meeting in Riverside for Tom V who asked me to do it for him because he is working on a project and can’t be there. Not sure just how many will show up, but I have been there with just a few of our Z friends and we had a very good time and saw a lot. Mark L. will be helping me, but because he has to work early Monday morning we have decided that others will also have to be at work on Monday. So we will hold our meeting on Saturday instead of Sunday in hopes of a larger turn out.
I will still be there for anyone who wants the tour on Sunday. We will go by Ramona High, Cheri Jo’s home, the Catholic Church that she and her father went to that Sunday,RCC and to the crime scene. Even though that has been changed from two houses to a building.

I have looked over her case a re-read the police reports so I will have all of my ducks in a row. While doing that I noticed the picture of her car with the door open showing her three books still on the passenger seat , also showed her seat push back as if someone taller than her sat in her car? Then I started thinking that she must have been forced from her car( perhaps by gun point?) because she needed those books. I would think that if she went with her killer, thinking that she was getting a ride home because her car wouldn’t start, she would have taken her books with her? The other thing that crossed my mind was where I read that not only was her coil wire removed , but the distributor was removed and the condenser ? All the killer needed to do to keep the car from starting is remove the coil wire. That made me think that he must have done the rest of of it when he pretended to fix her car? He would need tools to remove the condenser for sure, the distributor cap twists off easily , takes longer to pull the whole distributor off.
In the confession letter Zodiac mentions only the coil wire, perhaps because that is what he did , but later did the rest while Cheri Jo waited.

If any of you are interested in being there for the 50th , let me know in a pm please. I also sent a email to the Press Enterprise asking them to keep Cheri Jo’s memory alive. I also told them that it was RCC’s 100th anniversary! Yes it was the 50th anniversary when She was killed another thing that Zodiac liked was anniversary’s.

I am putting the word out there for anyone attending to please help with doing video, so that the many people who can’t attend will be able to see our tour.
Still pictures are not the same, but there will be photographs taken by a newspaper reporter. My guess is that it will be in the Sunday paper, I will buy a copy to post here and at Zkiller.com.The reporter who phoned me yesterday, had many questions as to how many will be attending?

So far there are 8 that I know will be there for sure. I explained that we never know just how many until they show up, that is the way it has been in the past. We talked about the crime and the main suspect who is called Bob Barnett, I told the reporter what the true name of the suspect was. As far as I know he is still alive and his real name should not be posted or in any paper. I mentioned that the question I would like to ask RPD, is have they shared the DNA that they have with SFPD?

I have hope that Cheri Jo’s brother Michael will show up. I have a Catholic prayer book that I would like to show him . I was left in my car along with many other things, in Napa on the 28th or 29th of Sept 1969, along with the killing costume , of which I thought was just an early Halloween costume. The only possible Zodiac Catholic victim that I know of was Cheri Jo Bates, if it did belong to her and Michael can ID it as belonging to his sister, that could be the smoking gun we need to catch her killer.

The newest testing of DNA is called" phenotyping" This technique conjures up a physical likeness to the perp. It can even do a geographic ancestry, eye and hair color!
