I recently watched the video posted on this website in memory of Cheri Jo Bates. It is a montage of photos of the Riverside area including, I believe, her family home where she lived with her father. One shot shows a boat and a 1960’s car in front of the home where she lived. Does anyone know if that is from the time of her death
or was it taken in later years? I’ve asked this before, did Cheri Jo go boating with her father and if so on what lakes did they go to?

Alot of folks from LA actually took Interstate 5 up to Lake Shasta each summer, so that would be important to my story,
if she and her Dad went up to Shasta. We also have Lake Berryessa and Clear Lake to consider.

Cheri had a fiance’….had just gotten engaged the weekend before she was murdered. He had gone to Ramona High, but at the time of her death was attending SF State. She had gone to visit him in SF when they got engaged.
I do not think he went to Vietnam, but not 100% on that as it would have come after her death.

Just curious, Cheri’s father went to the beach that Sunday, does anyone know for certain where that beach was located? How about the ‘Bob Barnett’ character, is his identity known? Not that it matters, but it might point in the direction of the murderer or at least eliminate a suspect. The FBI files do point to an individual with a 22 to 23 character name including spaces.

His real first & Last name include 14 letters, cant remember his middle name
