R.H. Bradshaw was the President at RCC in 66, maybe it’s his initials (not that he wrote it,but somebody thumbing their nose at him)

"RH being his initials would be too easy…: Sometimes, Morf, we stumble over the obvious in pursuit of the obscure.

rh being someone’s initials make perfect sense if there is nothing malicious behind it. People like to stake claim to their "work". Whoever wrote it probably thought it was good stuff.

…they may be dealing with one or more ersatz Zodiacs–other psychotics eager to get into the act, or perhaps even other murderers eager to lay their crimes at the real Zodiac’s doorstep. L.A. Times, 1969

There is an interesting connection between RCC and the date the LA Times letter was sent, too.

Some more thoughts on "RH initials": The "rh" might stand for either Ramona High, or the poet’s initials. If you take THE CONFESSION into consideration, ANYONE who attended Ramona High when Cheri did is a possible suspect. Personally, I favor a white male with the initials, RH, who attended Ramona High while Cheri did. And, while I’m at it, why quibble over whether or not Zodiac killed Cheri Bates? If our Forum "just" proved who was Cheri’s murderer, it would be covered in glory.

Wow Deb, I did not know that, thanks. I wonder if there was an article in any papers or some mention some place that Riverside College would have an upcoming anniversary/birthday? Maybe something to make him select that day?

Personally I don’t think it has anything to do with the president of the school. Jmo. Feels like we are reaching too far here. Interesting coincidence though.

Edit: actually, maybe you are on to something!

My mom said she thinks it stood for "Ross (was) here" haha a little too
Easy, but she reminded me that often as kids in school it was common to sign "so and so was here" on desks. I remember desks were riddled with the phrase and different names all Over them. Not a bad thought, but eh.

Or

Ross’s Handrwiting as if to say "this is my natural handwriting without being deceptive"

The Kids at the Stine scene thought Z’s hair may be reddish brown.

Suppose rh is a nickname? RedHead.

Wasn’t Ross’ hair sort of reddish? He was, I assume with that surname, of Irish descent. Does anyone know if he had a nickname, maybe as a child?

rh = Red Herring? A false clue like in a mystery novel?

Or…

Most assume the letters are meant to be initials. But if the writer intended to provide initials the usual way they would be rendered is RH.

What if the rh was meant to be a clue, a way of signing his name or identity?

R is the 18th letter and H is the 8th letter. So rh numerically is:

18 + 8. And 18 + 8 = 26. The 26th letter of the alphabet is Z.

The Bates killer already signed one letter with what looked like a Z. Could the " rh " be a simple way of numerically expressing another Z?

The rh could mean anything at all which makes the possibilities endless…..or it means nothing,a fake clue who knows. I think if it was the writer’s initials, every RH in that school would have been looked at closely, I know I personally have looked at every RH I could find there. Then again, there was no guarantee that desktop would be found, or if it would ever be connected to the Bates case, so why would the writer need to make a fake clue with the initials?

In 1966 there were 24 people at Ramona High School with the initials ‘rh’. 6 were seniors-5 juniors-11 sophomores- 2 staff members. Out of that 24 four were female.
