He listed many things this "John" guy wrote in his diary about Cheri Jo. After some of us questioned it, he deleted some of his posts.

I guess this guy "John" who sent deadmoon the diary, didn’t realize we all had access to her autopsy report.

Some real sickos out there!

Now deadmoon may certainly not have known either way so he his trying to get info out there. He said LE was not responsive, but from what I gathered, all he did was call. Not surprising no one called back. If you have something like a diary claiming to have info only LE and the killer would know…mail a copy in. They will surely get back to you if there was any validity to it. BUT, after reading the information, imo, all that would happen is it would get tossed in the trash.

Cheri Jo Bates was murdered by the Zodiac Killer. Through a fortuitous set of circumstances, I came into possession of what can only be described as the ZODIAC’S diary. The initial entries are exclusively about the Ms Bates homicide. They detail her (Ms Bates) and Paul Stine as being in a "relationship" years before the Stine homicide occurred occurred. Being one to seize on an opportunity when it extends itself, I am assembling an edited & abridged version of this diary for publication. What I find compelling is the great detail provided relevant to Ms Bates — information that only the killer and the police would know. A lot has been held back by the Riverside Police Department and the Coroner’s Office as to the condition of Ms. Bates remains and her VW bug. Time permitting, and if there is any interest in this material, I’ll post some abstracts.

I have no clue if it’s legitimate or someone puffing their wares but I knew you all would want to know.

I got the distinct impression that they were preparing to publish yet another book on The Z. and they were drumming up interest.

The mask was created using Shatner’s Face for the mold,TRUE STORY. It is actually a modified Shatner mask that they teased the hair on,and added white powder/paint to the face.Shatner mentions it in this vid: http://www.horror-movies.ca/horror_14741.html

Due to its shoestring budget, the prop department had to use the cheapest mask that they could find in the costume store: a Star Trek William Shatner mask. They later spray-painted the face white, teased out the hair, and reshaped the eye holes. Shatner admitted that for years he had no idea his likeness was used for this film. It was only during an interview that someone mentioned his mask was being used. He has since stated that he is honored by this gesture.
