10:00PM Mr Bingo Wesher/Wisemer (?) Sheep Herder observes White Chev Impala and Red Pick up Truck

11:00PM Peggy Your and Husband observe kids alive in Rambler No other car observe Red Pick up
Threatened by a young man with a long barreled gun one of the Hunters(?)

11:10 PM Hunters see the Your’s car leave area at 11:15pm No other car besides Rambler

11:15 PM James Owen drives past sees two cars in the turn out no dead bodies in turn out cannot describe the other car describes Rambler

11:15 PM Stella Borges comes upon the murder scene with dead bodies one car

11:30PM Police Notified Solano Sheriffs

I have accounted for the adjustments the Police made to folk’s clocks.
There is a problem here with over lapping accounts
The bottom line is the Yours see the kids alive at 11:00 PM
And Stella Borges sees them dead at 11:15
At 11:00PM no other car is reported and the kids are Alive
Either someone here is lying and Zodiac was one of these present witnesses, or someone drove in between 11:00pm and 11:15 pm
And killed the kids and then left
There are no descriptions of any other cars during the time of the killings.

of the so called Impala that night.

There is a kid in the report that was driving with his older college aged friend, that was enrolled in SOlano County college, that passed a light blue or white chevy Impala possibly as they turned onto LHR. I am wondering about the blue cars,just as much as I am interested in the white cars. Wonderinf if under the right lighting, a light blue car could appear to be white? Remember the girls at the lake, the mystery guy they saw and that the sketch was based on, was driving a light blue car, and the car that supposedly chased Bill Crow was a light colored car,maybe a chevy

Found the page about the kid driving with the older kid from Solano college. A couple troubling things jump out-frist, they dfinitely mention seeing an Impala that was blue, but was it light blue or dark blue? Next, why is this older student’s name not mentioned in the report, and what kind of car is he driving? Why didn’t police ask these questions? Why do we have to do it 40+ years later? I am going to see if I can reach out to Stan(by the way, as per usual, they spelled Stan’s last name wrong in the report)

Stan went on to have a run-ins with police in recent years,and I wonder what kind of Solano College kid he was hanging out with, was he a trouble maker then?:

How could any of those folks be in a 12/21/68 police report? Did Pitta know any of them at the time well enough at the time to just refer to them as (Don)? I don’t think that’s it.

I was joking about the name Don being Cheney,Hardin etc…
However, I looked back thru the reports and I have at least two guys named Don that are listed as possible suspects in the various Z reports:

The first guy named Don was found to be carrying a gun when police questioned him about the Zodiac case, I forget, but i think he was driving a blue car, will have to check. Don went on to have a checkered life mixed up in various crimes. He is still alive and in another state.

The 2nd guy mentioned in the reports named Don is very interesting. On the weekend of July 4,1969, Don was up in Vallejo visiting his Mother In law from the Santa Barbara area(Domingos/edwards). He claims he was approached by a stocky man asking for a ride back down to the Santa Barbara area. He claimed he needed to get out of the area, because he was involved in some shootings. Don knew this stocky man at least casually, or at least recognized him. Don refused to give the guy a ride. Don relayed this story to his Mother in Law, and his Mother in law contacted police. Police contacted Don, and Don denied ever telling his Mother in law that story. No follow up lised in the report, which is odd because either he,or his Mother in law was lying. What I found interesting, was that Don described the man as ‘stocky’ before there was any physical description of zodiac known to the public. This 2nd Don is now deceased.

No idea if one of these two Don’s is the guy referred to by Pitta.

Someplace(cant seem to find it) I made a thread about ‘BLUE CARS’ in the Zodiac case, since every report seemed to mention one or more blue cars.

Here are a few:

Dave B. -Drove a blue GTO, late model may have known Darlene and called her

James R.- Drove a ice blue corvair

George R. Saxberg(one of my favorite darkhorse suspects,now deceased)Lived in Sonoma, and owned a blue Plymouth 2 dr

Another guy came to police suspecting that he may have been the target of the attack. He owned a Rambler, and had seen a blue car prowling around his home, and sitting out front of his house

Steve c.- owned a 2dr 65 blue Ford Falcon

And again, I think that the guy Don found to have a gun on hin during questioning, drove a blue car but have to verify that

Well,I guess we don’t know if there was 3 hunters, but both Connelly & Gasser say it was just them, and the Yours only saw the 2 men,so I guess we have to assume there was not a 3rd hunter hiding out

Back to guys in blue cars for a second-
This guy ‘Pete’ sounds interesting too. Not sure if he was ever identified or not. Drove a blue car, some possible acne scars, black hair,age 28…..sounds like the mystery guy from Berryessa. Had guns,asked a female, "what would you do if I raped you?", not very social etc

I picked up on that too, the acne scars (kathleen Johns). Also if you read the BRS reports there is a similar report of a rape threat. Darlene apparently talked him out of it. Same person?

One of the things that makes the LHR attack interesting was that the police simply didn’t know what they were looking for yet. At the time of the LHR reports there was no Zodiac yet, no letters or writing samples, finger prints or even vague descriptions of what the killer might look like. All the police had to go off of was ballistic tests to see if any .22 caliber guns might match the shells they found.

I’m not trying to say the investigator were sloppy, just that they didn’t know what directions to look in. Now, looking back at these reports, many questions come to mind, and many suspects seem to be overlooked. It’s a shame that they had so many missed opportunities to clear things up back then.
