Not to go off topic, but in the 1970 SF City Directory, there is a DA LASS listed at 4122 Balboa. Donna Ann Lass? Didnt Darlene Ferrin have a listing on Balboa ST in her address book?

In 1940 census, they were not living in Sioux Falls. Not sure where they were living in 1944 when Donna was born.

In the 1940 census(4 years before Donna was born)her Parents & Siblings were living 7 hrs away in another part of SD. In that same census, Wayne Lass was living with his Parents in Sioux Falls. Sometime prior to Donna being born, her Parents moved to Sious Falls. Wayne & Donna would be 8 years apart in age,and definitely related, and living in Sioux Falls together. I think it’s very likely, they could have known each other. What does that mean in the overall picture? I don’t know.

Wow great work Tahoe and Morf….So if I’m following this thread correctly, Wayne is Donna’s cousin. Wayne lives in Vallejo in 1970, and until his death. I wonder if Joanne ever knew of, or met, Wayne? Very interesting….I don’t know what it means but it is sure interesting.

It only took 10 yrs for people to take an interest in the Vallejo Lass post ,that I felt needed to be checked out asap LOL . But then that has happened to some of my other posts that were swept under the rug for yrs. Thank you Seagull for finding the family connection and to Tahoe for bringing it back up.

He IS in the 1970 Vallejo directory,thats how I found him, however, it does not list his occupation.

Thank you Morf for finding my old post about finding Wayne and Donna Lass in Vallejo. I need to clear up a part of that post, telling about Kane being with my R.H.

At that time I was told the man in my picture I took in 1990 was Kane, he only looked like Kane. My Kane" look alike" is still alive and comes around from time to time.

Actually it was Morf who brought up Wayne Lass again. I am in the process of trying to communicate with the "Vallejo" Donna Lass. I sure hope to hear back from her. I also contacted Donna’s (Tahoe Donna) friend and am hoping to hear back from her as well.

Probably just one big coincidence, but interesting none-the-less.

Let’s hope that she opens up to Tahoe. I for one am simply astonished that she would have a Family member living in Vallejo,and that maybe, Donna could have got on Zodiac’s radar thru Wayne in some way.

We have not proven that Donna & Wayne knew each other, but it’s quite likely they did. They both had the same great grandfather and lived in Sioux Falls. I don;t know what that makes them, 2nd cousins? Great cosuins? My Daughter is 3 years old, and she knows my cousin’s kids,and both my Daughter and my cosuin’s kids share the same great Grandfather(My Grandpa,who just passed this week ), thats why I think it’s likely that Donna & Wayne knew each other.

One thing I am really curious about IF Wayne did know his Cousin Donna, is if he ever went to police once he heard about Donna being linked to the Zodiac case. If now,why? Zodiac was big news in Vallejo. Donna had no established ties or links to Vallejo. If I lived in Vallejo, and a cousin of mine with no ties to Vallejo suddenly became a possible Zodiac Victim, I would find that really odd,and would go to police and mention that,just maybe Donna was targeted by somebody that knew Wayne.

Thank you Trav. I have been lucky and unlucky…and have had the pleasure of getting to know some family members and a friend. There are some I would like to contact..just haven’t gotten my nerves up yet.

Tahoe, What I do to get up the nerve to call people connected to Victims or family members , is I read all about the victim again and get charged up for the call , that helps me anyway. I also write what I need to say to them, I let them know that I am trying to help get answers to who did the crime , I write down the questions that I want answers to.
You don’t want to bother them again with another call ,so make sure you have everything you need to say writen down.

Once the first few words come out of my mouth, I am fine LOL.

I hope Tahoe makes some progress with this
