Hello Everyone,

First off I would like to express my condolences for the victims, the families, the survivors and anybody else who has been affected by the attacks. Even though they were over 40 years ago we should never forget this is not a crime novel, these are real incidents affecting people’s lives and one which I am sure has cast a long shadow. Heck they even affected our lives, for if you are like me there is that nagging question when you go to sleep sometimes, when you are eating lunch, when you are playing soccer, "who is the Zodiac Killer?" amongst all the other questions "what do the codes say?" "Is he still alive?" The world of the zodiac is a world of unanswered questions for all but one person.

Although I am afraid it is unlikely anyone will be brought to justice bearing in mind it is a distinct possibility Zodiac is now deceased, and the prospect of proving beyond all reasonable doubt a case against an individual diminishes over time I remain optimistic that a definitive answer to the question of "who" may be yet found. I suspect if there is a definitive answer it will have to come from DNA evidence as this is how the majority of "cold" cases are solved when so much time has passed. That said there is a chance that a review of some of the other evidence may yet yield an answer.

I’m Igog but for those of you who like a puzzle, my real name is about on the internet ילש טפושה אוה םיהולא. l0 points to the first to get it, 20 points with methodology! PM me with your solution if you like, Unlike the Zodiac I will tell you if you are correct!

As for me, I am from the UK and previously worked in a forensic capacity, (where medicine meets law) I have worked on murder cases, amongst others. I am a lawyer (solicitor) by trade and now specialise in medical law with a particular interest in Coronial law.

By way of a brief summary profile of the killer this is what I have so far, I have tried to stick as far as possible to what I can directly or indirectly infer from the evidence (after weighing the same for veracity and credibility) but if you have any questions why I have arrived at a particular attribute please ask. If you don’t agree please feel free to politely debate with me, it is surely through debate and discussion that answers are found, plus intelligent debate is fun! I might get around to posting my full profile at some point if anyone is interested.

Same here. Before that I wondered if it was of the Names of God but I couldn’t decide if the spaces counted but 17 or 20 are both applicable, I think.

Welcome Igog…

Just wondering why you are guessing brown eyes. ?

…they may be dealing with one or more ersatz Zodiacs–other psychotics eager to get into the act, or perhaps even other murderers eager to lay their crimes at the real Zodiac’s doorstep. L.A. Times, 1969

Thank you for the welcomes. You are round about right with the Hebrew for the first bit.

My guess for brown eyes, and you are correct it is little more than a guess is two fold based in part on credible statistics;

1) 32% of people in the US have brown eyes, and none of the witnesses mention eye colour when 23% of witnesses recall eye colour particularly rare eye colours and people are more likely to remember blue eyes than brown. Like I say, this is little more than a guess I am afraid. He might have black eyes for all I know.

Hi,

welcome to the board..some things I do agree, some I can’t follow yet (the red ones). Z could have lived in SF or Antioch or Sacramento or Mount Diablo etc..

Nevertheless, I’d add some more criteria.

– possibly radio operator
– hiking, possibly scouting guy with knowledge in field navigation
– driver of a light tan to white Chevrolet or Mercury with green lighted instruments
– stocky with light protruding belly
– shoe size 10.5, Wingwalkers
– occasional or regular smoker
– used to draw sometimes, at least owned felt pen and bought jolly joker post cards
– had knowledge or access to sewing works
– heavily rimmed glasses with black frame, possibly sometimes with elastic band
– limped, possibly was not able to run at all, duck-style
– possibly frequented South Lake Tahoe, Paradice motel
– possibly had access to ‘Good Times’ or other underground newspapers and/or lawyers of the SF Chronicle/Hearst family
– owned a blue windbreaker
– frequented Vallejo restaurants and drive-ins
– was known to Darlene Ferrin
– possibly was known to Cecilia Shephard (Riverside) and CJB (Riverside)

Hey QT,

My reasoning behind the comments in red:
Unmarked in 1970, – Two reasons 1. what zodiac did takes privacy, something never to be shared. 2) it is the fixation on the girls, like Shipman murdered people who were like his mother, zodiac goes for couples and takes pleasure for revenging on the girls. He had not resolved his hang ups.

Married, died or jailed: He seemed to just stop, why. Of course it is possible he changed his mo to make them look like accidents as promised. Chilling.

Local to Vallejo – extrapolated using the journey to crime theory,

That his first name was Richard was from Mike Mageau’s interview for documentary ofcourse memories change over time and credibility is a factor but primae facie this is what an eye witness has said.

low or medium income – the car, the clothes, the homemade nature of some of the objects, nothing points to zodiac been rich.

All just theory really though, I would love to be proven right or wrong, either would be fine. Accepted these parts are weaker than saying he was a white male.

I like yours, why a radio operator? Why a hiker? Why limped?

How did you come up with the name, "Richard"? And, by the way, welcome to the site!
