I go by the handle NightLife. I’m interested in True Crime I like researching the psychological aspects of the subject. I don’t have too much to say about myself. The Z case is one of the unsolved crimes that have caught my attention. The others include Jack the Ripper which is the case that I have done the most research on. D.B. Cooper is another.

Welcome Nightlife,
The psychological aspects of the criminals are indeed interesting!
D.B. Cooper is also one that interests me.

Good to have you here Nightlife. I think Jack the Ripper was someone that Zodiac could have been interested in and D.B.Cooper resembled the Zodiac composite.( Not that I think he was Zodiac)

Hi Nightlife!

…they may be dealing with one or more ersatz Zodiacs–other psychotics eager to get into the act, or perhaps even other murderers eager to lay their crimes at the real Zodiac’s doorstep. L.A. Times, 1969

Zam, speaking of D.B, you think he made it or died during his jump? Neal Armstrong’s comments come to mind in relation to Mr Copper, "Thats one small step for man, One giant leap for mankind" lol. They did find a fairly large quantity of dollar bills didn’t they? Well, some kid out hunting/fishing/camping did I think. That would simply never be allowed to happen today. They allowed the plane to land, re-fuel, give him the ransom money, and then take off again. Today, SWAT would storm the Jet before it’s engines even started to taxi to the runway.

"So it’s sorta social. Demented and sad, but social, right?" Judd Nelson.

It’s a difficult call, but part of me hopes he made it, geeze I’m bad rooting for the bad guy. It’s just the coolest mystery.

Have you heard the song about Cooper that has a very catch chorus ‘D.B Cooper where are you now?’ I can attest to it’s catchyness due to it sticking in my head for days after hearing it lol.

And I suppose you allready know this bit of triva but i’ll ask just incase. Did you know Cooper never actually used ‘D.B’ or said those were his initials and that he had, in fact, called himself ‘Dan Cooper’ but the press printed it in error as D.B Cooper and it just stuck.

But I never understood one thing about Dan/D.B Cooper and the investigation is this….

The No.1 suspect (Who’s name I cant recall, but you may, he attempted to repeat the stunt after Cooper had and was imprisoned, subsequently escaped, was tracked down, a shootout ensued between himself and the police and, well he’s not here to tell the story anymore. But he was suspected by many people not to be a copy-cat sky-jacker but actually was D.B himself trying the same stunt again. This was never proven conclusive 3either way but the question I can’t seem to answer is: Why didn’t they (FBI) just go to the flight attendant and show her the guys pic? She sat next to Cooper, spoke to him, and would likely, at the very least, to say it was not the man she remembers on her flight, or maybe that he was? I could never understand why nobody ever seemed bothered to do that lol.

Guys,

I’ve copied the 2 DB threads across from the old board. Continue the discussion in one of those. Thanks.

I’d have to say its more likely he ended up in either the woods or the Washougal River. No money was ever spent, only a small amount was found on the bank of the Columbia River. I’d have to say he became animal food.
