Hi, I’m MikeC. You may remember me from such websites as… Well, suffice it to say I’ve been around a while – longer than I care to admit.

I have no suspect and I’m generally skeptical of all suspects. Although, it’s certainly not for a lack of wanting a suspect; I just haven’t come across anybody whom I consider to be compelling based on my interpretation of the case. Otherwise, I’m especially interested in the cryptograms and interpreting the meaning of the killer’s letters. However, I enjoy analyzing most (but not necessarily all) aspects of the case.

I’m glad to see another Zodiac-Killer destination on the internet and I’m looking forward to watching this site develop.

Mike

Great to have you here Mike! Your site has been helpful to me on more than one occasion. I appreciate the listing of SF newspaper articles! It has come in handy. I took your lead and did the same thing with the L.A. Times articles. viewtopic.php?f=94&t=134

…they may be dealing with one or more ersatz Zodiacs–other psychotics eager to get into the act, or perhaps even other murderers eager to lay their crimes at the real Zodiac’s doorstep. L.A. Times, 1969

Thanks Tahoe27! Nice work with the L.A. Times articles. I’ve been meaning to update my bibliography, and maybe post some of the articles themselves. Unfortunately, the task, so far, hasn’t risen high enough on my priority list :(

Good to have you here Mike. ha, there are a lot of Zodiac Mikes aren’t there? I dig your site, I think I’ve made a post or two on it being my usual contrarian self.

Hi Mike! The stuff you post at your site is great. My husband has a copy of Bowditch’s and when I’m going through the book case looking for something and spot it, you come to mind immediately!!

Thanks Seagull! Haha.. I suppose if I have to be associated with something, Bowditch isn’t so bad :)

Hey Mike! Nice to meet you. I laughed when I read that you are intrigued by the cryptograms. The psychological aspects are what has held my interest all these years. Plus, as a dating teenager of the mid-1960s, it always hung in the back of my mind about how far the Zodiac would travel to do his deeds. However, decoding the cryptograms is the least interesting to me. In fact, trying to decipher that stuff brings out the worst in my personality! Now, if someone could decode them, I’d happily spend hours tearing apart Z’s thought processes. 8-)

When in doubt, don’t.

Hi Patinky!

Nice to meet you as well. Sadly, I don’t think anybody is going to solve any of the ciphers anytime soon. Well, let me state that more precisely. I don’t think anybody is going to come up with a solution which will pass the scrutiny of people who are legitimately knowledgeable about cryptology. I’d be happy to be proven wrong on this point, but…

At any rate, that’s the great thing about the case of the Zodiac – there’s something for everybody!
