LE would be wrong to just assume it wasn’t Zodiac. Why wouldn’t they/we consider it? KJ thought it was him and Zodiac said it was him. That avenue should have definitely been explored…and it was. And still remains a possibility.

The thing is, there needs to be proof. There wasn’t any. Kathleen had never seen him before. She never heard his voice or saw his car. Zodiac never offers any proof. No mention of KJ’s clothes or the baby blanket, etc.

You all may be right and it was Zodiac who was driving around tricking women (a first–I know..he changed his ways), but to lump Kathleen Johns into "Confirmed Victims", threre needs to be PROOF.

I sure am glad she didn’t end up dead that night. We may have had our answer either way, but I’d rather be left guessing.

Well, now I see that slightly, but only slightly different. There is one – definite – proof as Kathleen Johns has identified the Zodiac sketch as her perpetrator. She, being a victim of his attack, never changed that in her mind, as far as I know.

Second there are police reports matching her identification and description of the Zodiac sketch in at least 2-3 issues.

Third there is also the letter of Z claiming to have attacked this woman with her baby. And finally, in negative selection, there had been no other incidents with a woman and her baby.

So if someone doesn’t need the named signature under a confession letter (Kathleen Johns letter), I’d say she is confirmed. Overmore, MO and region is a fit, too.

It’s okay if we got different attitudes on that one..at least there is no physical evidence. Regarding the Examiner article: ‘That’s the man – oh my god – that’s the man who picked us up‘ (Kathleen Johns). This is mainly why I do think Kathleen in fact was able to identify her assailant rather comparing him as a look-a-like. Proof in fact might require more, but for my part I am really, really convinced.

QT–had Zodiac offered the story on his own about a woman and her baby…I’d be convinced too. A look-alike doesn’t convince me, but you are certainly entitled to your opinion.

Just to mention another coincidence, it is written that the incident happened in the evening. Z mentions that in his letter, but that the incident occured late in the evening is in the article, too.

Not sure how or if we could access that info because of privacy laws, especially from 40 years ago

I think Johns was likely kidnapped by Z. Why? Because her incident happened in March,1970. The news articles also ran about her case in March 70. If you are Z, wand want to steal the limelight and attention from that, then you claim responsibility for it while it’s fresh. Z didn’t do that, he waited 4 months. The only reason he would wait that long in my opinion, is because he may have been worried his door was going to get kicked in soon after the Johns case & article. After a few months, he feels safe that if they were going to kick in his door, they would have already done it, and he finally writes the letter taking responsibility for it.

Besides Joy M. Hungerford, also Sue Alice Beaulieu should be mentioned in that connection, too.

I don’t think that hunting for a Z suspect is going to fly as a legitimate reason for requesting the info. And even if it did, good luck getting 40 year old registration info
