Good questions – not easy to reconcile, especially the voice. A couple of points from Dr Mark Hewitt’s book, "Exposed":
* As the Unabomber, TK was known to wear extra layers, including bulky jackets, to appear larger to any witnesses
* As the Unabomber, TK wore disguises and deliberately altered his appearance. (hair, beard etc)
* TK wrote and bragged about his disguises, including stuffing cotton into his mouth and nose to alter his appearance
* Investigators found false bottom shoes belonging to TK, making his footprint smaller than his actual shoe size
* A forensic artist theorized TK broke his own nose to alter his appearance after being sighted in Salt Lake City
* TK developed two speech patterns, as far back as childhood, implying he could effectively alter his "voice"I’m offering these not as hard rebuttal, more as observations.
As a suspect, at least we know that TK was a killer, which is more than we can say for Kjell Qvale, Michael O’Hare, ALA, Gaikowski, Kane, etc. The handwriting appears to match, though I am no expert. It seems like a radical shift to go from hitman style shootings to anonymous bombings. Maybe the close brush with LE at the Stine scene scared him, if TK is the Zodiac. It is also strange that he would morph from "collecting slaves" to ravaging against the ills of technology. I would also note that Zodiac’s letters bear little resemblance in subject matter to TK’s other writings. The Zodiac does not write like a PhD. level academic. He writes like an 8th grader on Aderall. That said, it is possible that TK could play a part for the sake of the Zodiac persona. I would also note that TK’s coding system to encrypt his notebooks was described by the FBI as more advanced than what they saw from the KGB. That does not seem to comport with the relatively simplistic and error-prone ciphers of the Zodiac.
I do plan to read Hewitt’s books to see how he deals with some of the problems with TK.

He did. But would he give up his original method of killing entirely? I don’t know. TK is interesting. He has all the knowledge and skill to be the Zodiac, that’s for sure.

Usually its a crank call to get everyone out of a building and to be a pain in the neck.
which is one reason why calls can be traced to most home phones and cell phones.
