Every Tuesday. Re-runs in between.

…they may be dealing with one or more ersatz Zodiacs–other psychotics eager to get into the act, or perhaps even other murderers eager to lay their crimes at the real Zodiac’s doorstep. L.A. Times, 1969

It’s remarkable that one of the librarians that was working at the RCC library in 1966 IS STILL THERE !

I’ve not read this thread in order to avoid possible spoilers. I want to see the show so much… but I’m not in the US.

Thank you. I guess I will wait for all the episodes to air and then binge.

There is a lot I could say about this show. One of my sources at the Vidocq Society told me that this guy Mains approached them about becoming a member but was refused because he was not qualified and couldn’t make the cut. So he started his own group, lol. I was told that the term "cold case expert" is a stretch for him.

I wish real Z researchers who know the case inside and out had been on this show. Nobody asked that guy Shumway why he said Cheri Jo was stabbed 42 times in 2000 and why he came up with all that melodrama about their "pet suspect" at that time. What was wrong with the mt-DNA they used to compare against their suspect in 2000? Was he ruled out? RPD so secretive in a case that cries out for the help of the public.

Zodiac did not write on Zodiac stationery. He wrote on Monarch size stationery.

The guy from LAPD said that the boot prints from Riverside were the "same ones from up north." Not true.

Since when was Z a guy who was "250 lbs.?" In my conversations with Fouke, he said that because of the jacket Z was wearing, he could have been off by "50 lbs" in his estimates. Both he and Lindsey laughed at the possibility that Allen was the man they saw and Ross was bigger than Allen, whom Fouke called "way out of proportion." Hartnell also backed off in the COTC and said that the attacker could have been "big or small." http://www.zodiackiller.com/COTC14.html

I do agree someone who knew this case like the back of their hand should have been their 3rd wheel.

I would like to add though, Mains "group" appears to be quite reputable and genuine. He is a nice guy and sincere in his words. I cannot speak for his expertise, but I think his bio is quite impressive.

Keep in mind the soil compaction tests done at Lake Berryessa indicate that Z was well over 200 pounds, this is the only physical
evidence we have to indicate Z’s weight.
The witnesses impressions of his weight are very subjective.

Mike R brings up some good points and right away I was saying to myself the LAPD guy is very wrong on the boots. The Bates case are average military boots and the Zodiac’s Wing Walkers and just a bit more rare. Anyways glad there looking into Ross and getting national attention now. Far better then the usual suspects that been look into over and over again. I’m happy for Morf and all else that been looking into Ross. I hope this show before it’s over will either match Ross’s DNA to Bates or exclude him. History channel please don’t D tease and get the DNA tested to Ross!

I guess everyone would love a test with Ross’ DNA but he has been deceased for 30 years and it seems his living relatives who could give a DNA sample do not want to be associated with this whole thing.

monarch, I personally don’t have much faith in the compaction test that they did at the Lake. Correct me if I am wrong, but only one impression was taken and that was close to the shore line and next to where Cecelia was stabbed. Zodiac was more than likely straddling her as he stabbed her. When he went to stand up his weight could have shifted making that one impression deeper. They used plaster of Paris back then and have sense changed to a better mixture. Plaster of Paris swells and shrinks , not very accurate! Like I have mentioned before, two weeks later the suspect looks smaller than the Lake B. killer by many pounds and height. Foukes said he could have been off by 50 pounds, because of the puffy jacket the killer wore.
I will stand by K. Johns description as being the best of everyone elses. I do believe that she was abducted by Zodiac and later tormented with phone calls and at least one Halloween card. That to me is something that Zodiac does, he likes tormenting.
I have a hunch that the DNA will show the killer having hazel eyes, brown wavy hair and a medium complexion. I believe that Ross is a very good suspect for the CJB case, but way too large for Zodiac. Wasn’t the shoe print at RCC a military dress shoe? No mention of it being a 10 and a half?

Apparently you can watch the first episode at the History Channel website. I have an ad blocker so it wouldn’t play for me, I saw the show so didn’t feel like fiddling with my ad blocker to make sure that you can see the whole program.

FYI – I turned my adblocker off to check the procedure. The next stage is you have to sign in/up to the History Channel and choose to watch it with your provider (at no extra cost apparently).

I don’t know Chief, he’s very smart or very dumb.

That is the thing and there is a lot of other lesser known but very good suspects but with out the DNA or fingerprints we will always wonder. I’m not in the Ross fan club but can’t rule him out either. What sux is this whole series is going to be one big D tease like I said to the ones who think Ross Killed Bates and think he maybe Zodiac. I guess it’s cool his name is now out there with the more popular suspects and maybe something comes of it!

Drawback is History channel makes you binge watch 4 episodes of The Curse of Oak Island before you can watch The Hunt for the Zodiac Killer Ep 1.
