I thought that Dick Van Dyke actually confessed to being the Zodiac about a year ago:

Yeah I read about this Russell Johnson ‘news’ a month ago or so. I think this was done tongue in cheek

There is more than one way to lose your life to a killer

I agree. It’s neither funny nor, let’s say, necessary. Lazy piece of work, all things said and done.

I have to agree too. I used to have an attitude of this case being so old that it didn’t bother me when people tried to make light of it. I admit I even chuckled a little when Dick Van Dyke "confessed" to being Z, but the more I dig under the skin of these murders, the more it starts to affect me when people find some twisted humor in all of this. Especially when I watch interviews with Mageau and Darlene’s sister Pam, and see how much it has destroyed their lives. Unfortunately, at this point in time, it’s higly unlikely any justice will be served, but I think it’s important to take this seriously, and keep the hunt alive. I just wish that one day soon we will know who did it, not so much for my own morbid curiousity anymore, but to see some small amount of closure for the families of the victims.

Yeah, I am getting that too- my sister was joking about how she was going to buy me a zodiac tshirt with his crosshair symbol on it for Christmas and I got a little offended. She didn’t mean anything by it, but I just bristle reflexively. Getting obsessed with this case isn’t about being a groupie to some killer, thinking he’s the shizzle. Maybe some people feel that way, but that’s pretty offensive. Coupled with the fact that Z seems almost out of reach, all the taunting letters and codes- you start feeling the gravity of what the cops must have felt- you just want to nail him down. There is still such an urgency, even if the world considers it a cold case.

These rumors, like Dick Van Dyke or the "Gilligan’s Island’ star being the Zodiac only serves to turn our focus from the facts and what we know to this nonsense, IMO, but one thing that is accomplished by the person who initiated the stores is that it attracts attention. Dick Van Dyke is a family man, a very religious person, and very successful in the entertainment industry, who has millions. I have met him several times. I cannot even imagine him killing helpless people and it is a very nasty attack on his character. I don’t know anything about the Gilligan’s Island actor, but, still I cannot image anyone as successful as both these persons are/were would resort to such hideous behavior.

NO WAY!!! I watch him every evening after school on TV stranded on Gilligan’s Island for many & many years with 6 other people. He was right there every evening on TV after school I saw him!!!. Professor was not that dumb to leave that Isolated Island with Mary Ann there.

No joke, Gilligan lived about 50 miles from myself after the TV show when off the air in Princeton WV, Saw him lot on March of Dimes Drive’s & local weather forecast & other local benefits, Until he sadly died few years back or I go ask Gilligan. I know the house he lived in.

Most older members on here know how I like to joke around a little bit. But this one I got to admit is a good one.
