I completely agree with Mike R, once we name a suspect we are out on a limb, and it seems unlikely that Graysmith got it right with ALA.
The extreme denial of the composite sketch appearance has always fascinated me, and I’m sure, pleased the Zodiac.
Thank God for DNA. It is very curious/cerious as to why SFPD has all of a sudden jumped out into the public with the Zodiac case.
There must be something a brewing, hopefully fresh DNA testing.
Also, more news, something going down in Riverside, from reliable sources.
If there is something going on in Riverside, the Press will probably be the last to know about it. They seem to enjoy being behind, not in front of, the story. I hope the Riverside rumor is not from Dr. D.

Yeah, who is the source of this Riverside rumor? Is it only Dr. D?

No it is not Dr. D. It helps to rattle some cages. I will keep this quite until I know more, just know RPD is working the case anew again.
Please continue to put pressure to the media down there and the authorities. The squeaky wheel gets the grease, especially when dealing with
the government, there’s no profit motive for them. DNA,DNA,DNA.
Is this development a comparison of one individual’s suspect to the mt-DNA from like 2000, or is it something more general that we can all get excited about? When you say "DNA," I hope it is an analysis of the "Bates had to die" letters for DNA, something I recently tried to push the media to encourage the authorities to do…with no luck. Maybe the three "DNA’s" in a row is a hint to the three letters…?

Forgive me if I am less than skeptical about this. I find it hard to see Riverside getting excited enough to give you any ‘inside info’ when they dont even think their case is related to Zodiac. And if you are trying to get them to do DNA tests between the Bates stuff and your suspect, that seems like a real waste of time, since your Husband was 16 or so at the time of the Bates murder. Forgive me, but I have a real hard time seeing your 16 year old Husband driving back and forth 6 hours from the Bay area to Riverside, and I have a feeling RPD will have the same difficulty.

No offense OWN but this sounds like another mixed message here. Weren’t you the one who said that you had been told something about the Nappa DNA that conflicted with what Tom or someone else at ZK said and it created some discontent?
I understand that we have to work with what we got and often that is incomplete information, but if someone can’t or otherwise won’t reveal the whole picture of what they have, then dangling it out there, even in the interest of just keeping us informed, can create confusion.
I agree DUCKKING, 100%

Dear Morf, Peter would have been 17 almost 18 and a senior in High School and yes it would completely blow my mind if he were involved in the Cheri Jo Bates case, and I am looking for an elimination of him as a suspect which I have not yet received. He was eliminated by Sac County for EAR/ONS. As well as for the partial DNA Napa
pulled from the recent Berryessa search, which depending on your favorite suspect was useful or useless. Napa did say because there was not a match to my suspect was not earth shattering as they are not sure whose DNA this is they pulled. However the Gaik camp wants to view this is fine with me. I guess it wasn’t Gaik’s.
If I can eliminate Peter as Cheri Jo Bate’s killer, and I can confirm that Zodiac wrote the Bates letters, then I may want to remove my book for sale.
Meanwhile, back at the Ranch, I did send in both hair samples from Peter’s son, and DNA profiles, to SFPD and Riverside earlier this year.
My source is with the Riverside Enterprise. Who’s yours?
By the way…reading posts over at Zodiac Killer.com about this event on July 19th with SFPD. It seems as though SFPD made a pretty big announcement which Morf totally discounted. Sandy Betts reports that SFPD announced they had a partial DNA for Zodiac which would lead to a suspect in the near future. Morf and others seem to think that SFPD is referencing some old DNA sample from 2002. Why on earth would SFPD waste their time with an event and a statement when they had previously closed the case after the 2002 DNA. Isn’t it possible that items were re-tested with today’s much more advanced DNA technology? Sandy Betts was at this event live, and yet I do not see anything about what SFPD said that night on this site? What gives? I thought we wanted to solve this case?

I think folks have just lost hope with DNA. They do having SOMETHING and whether it is old or new…we all hope for advancements in DNA technology.
