I don’t know if I can ask it, but is this information coming from the police or from reporters ? one of them having more values than the other one This being said, if a veil of silence is imposed on the case at the moment, it must necessarily be the sign of some progress…

I understand there is movement in both Zodiac & Bates cases, but I can not say if they have officially linked the Bates case to the Z case, or just happen to be making progress in both cases at the same time.(law enforcement people are being tight lipped and facing the threat of being suspended if they share any info about these 2 cases right now)Based on that, I’d be shocked if one or both cases were not solved sooner rather than later

Tom Voigt led us on back in August/Sept. by insinuating that the case had been solved and we should enjoy the mystery of Zodiac while we can during the Fall because it would be over then, so I just don’t want to get my hopes up again. Also, if you had to guess as far as the timeframe on the possibility of the case being solved, when you say "sooner rather than later" are we talking weeks, months, a couple more years? To me, with a 50 year old case "soon" could still be a few years out. Thanks again for all you do and I enjoy your work.

I can provide no further details about my source, other than saying they have never let me down and I believe them 100%, I don’t have any timeframes but I am optimistic

You have to figure it’s only a question of time before technology catches up to the case and we can all go home. Rootless hairs are in play now, as is the Stine cab.

If it’s really true that they can get a full DNA profile from rootless hairs then that would really be helpful to the investigation. I’m not sure how much luck they would have for the hair behind the stamp because it’s very small. They might have better luck with the hair from the Cheri Jo Bates murder.

In regards to the movie, there was a part in the behind the scenes video that really interested me. They said that they saw the video of the police interviewing Arthur Leigh Allen. I asked the Vallejo Police Department for that video a while back and haven’t heard back from them. I might do a FOIA request for it.

I just hope that if DNA solves the case, it is some real dark horse suspect, one nobody would suspect, like maybe the only Zodiac suspect who was spoken to by the police right after any of the crimes, who fits the power-assertive profile of one of the most elite profilers in the world and who caused Lindsey Robbins to go into a dissociative state when we showed him a 1960s photo of this man.

I’ll be happy when/If the case is solved so everyone can stop shifting conversations to their pet suspects. Of course, if the case was solved tomorrow, I guarantee there are some people that wouldn’t accept it if the Zodiac turned out to be someone who wasn’t their favorite suspect
