I personally believe Heafner killed her. He had the motive, and most of the evidence points to him. Such a weird case, Heafner lived a county over from me and this year was the first time I have heard of him.

I am doing some housecleaning, and have a bunch of Richard Haefner Files that I obtained in an effort to help Derek Sherwood with his Aardsma reasearch, including the first public photos of Haefener. He went on to write a book, and I didnt even get a shout out Oh well, sometimes, it’s better to stay out of the limelight. If anybody is interested in the Haefner materials I have, please let me know asap and I can email them to you

It’s frustrating that the Aardsma case can’t be given some closure as I’m also 99% convinced that Richard Haefner was responsible for this murder. It may well be a case of just too little evidence to compare from both the deceased suspect and the crime scene but the fact that the PA State Police won’t even acknowledge him as a suspect or even talk to Derek about his evidence is rather annoying to me.

Share your materials by all means, morf, but hang on to them as well just in case. You deserve multiple shout outs for your diligence in digging up info. in all of these cases.

Thanks Entropy, it’s alot of stuff in a PDF. Some of the stuff, I did not even remember I had,I can email it to whoever wants it. I remember early on researching Haefner as a possible Zodiac POI, he was interesting, RH initials(Bates desktop),he did some geology training in ‘RED LODGE’ MT, and of course lived in CA,but like most people, I don’t think he was a valid Z suspect,nor do I think the Aardsma case was the work of Zodiac.I definitely will hold onto the stuff, just maybe put it on a storage device. And the story behind the movie. I just glanced through it but it appears that it was a film student and it started as a ‘short’. Haven’t as yet found any details on whether it made it to general release.
