I remember reading about this case on websleuths — Sheila Lyons, 12, and her sister Katherine, 10, disappeared while at Wheaton Plaza shopping mall in Maryland, March, 1975. Originally, it was thought that a middle-aged man who was seen interviewing the girls with a tape recorder and a microphone was the prime suspect, but there’s a new suspect, 57-year-old Lloyd Lee Welch. Welch was an 18-year-old drifter and carnival worker at the time, and he’s currently serving time for sex offenses in Delaware.
