The Sacramento Valley is mostly flat. Not many spots to hide especially at roadside. Good luck planning an ambush in that environment.

No.

That was too much!

And again, maybe Kathy’s helpers did indeed offer help getting her into the police department and she refused. Or someone from the department came outside and helped her. Who knows. Not everything has to be suspicious.

Dim-wit speculation. No.

That was too much!

*How could "Gian Quasar" possibly know where the vineyards were back in 1970? Areas get developed.

Investigation by an intelligent individual is the reason for such a thing.

That was too much!

Maybe I missed it but where did the story of the Missouri people originate about what they did or didn’t do with Kathleen at the police station?

So what’s the real story on where Kathleen was found? Was she found near her car or far away? If her abductor drove her around for a couple of hours like she said then you would assume that she would be found many miles away from her car.

I’m pretty sure that to the police Kathy described her hiding spot as a field, and not a vineyard. Did "vineyard" appear in the yellow book? If so, why would we go with "vineyard" considering how much b.s. is in that book, including made up quotes?

The yellow book quotes Johns as fleeing into a vineyard.:

“[Johns]scooped up Jennifer and jumped from the car, dashed across the road, and leapt into an irrigation ditch surrounded by tall grass in the middle of a field. "It was all wine vineyard with a little gully and I just laid as flat as I could".

The police reports says that she fled into a field and up an embankment:

“…she jumped out of the vehicle with her baby and ran away from the suspect across a field and up an embankment…”

Regarding the “people from Missouri”, the police report states:

”Mrs Johns then got to a roadway or highway, this part is not clear to undersigned or to the Stanislaus Deputy, Mr Lovett, but finally did get back on highway or near Highway 132, where she was given a ride by some people from Missouri".

And…

” when I got to this little one-horse town, she let me off in front of the police station".

The question I have is how did “people from Missouri”[plural] become “female driver” [singular]?

“Murder will out, this my conclusion.”
– Geoffrey Chaucer

Of course, quotes from the yellow book need to be taken with a rather large grain of salt.

Also, "…she let me off in front of the police station" might have ended with "and walked me to the door" but the end was either not included, or included and later edited out. Not that it has any importance whatsoever.

Chaucer said;

"

That police report quote;
…"she let me off in front of the police station".
Implication assumed that of those ‘people’, a female was the driver, the
one doing the ‘letting off’.

Well, my previous post on this didn’t explictly accept there was a vineyard –
however, it could be taken as a supporting source, the comments by
Howard Davis (bruce3), relating what Kathleen Johns said when he
interviewed her;

"Finally, he went up a wrong ramp in the dark, so she quickly told this
man she was’ going to be sick’, and jumped out of his car and ran
towards a vineyard."…"She hid in a furrow or ditch"…"She could
see his car and the man got out running after her."…"She said he, by
then, was shining a flashlight (and she thought he was holding a hand
gun in his other hand ) around the dark field saying to show herself"…
"Then at some point a semi truck pulled up close by the scene, and the
driver got out asking in a loud voice what was going on. The truck driver,
no doubt, could see the flashlight playing the field in the dark ,and this
man standing in the field seemingly looking for something.
The man then ran down to his car(perhaps he knew these drivers had
CBs to call the police), and drove off at a ‘high rate of speed.’"

Thanks, so it was a field originally and then a vineyard 15 years later. Or something like that. I’ve dealt with stuff like this before, where we have a meaningless detail that nobody would remember, then years later when someone says "it was a vineyard" the person says "oh yes, a vineyard." So, the take away is, maybe it was a vineyard. Or not. The truth is…IT DOESN’T MATTER. Same with the Missouri stuff.

On what basis is that detail considered meaningless? Are you unable to interpret what that might mean?

That was too much!

I would argue that a critical mind would not attempt to cherry-pick information that gratifies personal bias. Every salient detail here matters. Amazing you do not see that.

That was too much!
