I think I rmember that the 2 individuals that volunterd to come down to the Vallejo PD? in a FBI report to have their guns both 9mm lugers tested, 1 acted suspicous and refused to talk further ,remember , worked at Humble oil . I thought it odd as Leigh working at a refinery also ,but it is a large industry there. worth looking at again ?

Turns out that both of these guys were old enough to have been at the D&E crime scene in 63. I know who both of these guys were and checked them out finding no links to southern CA

I see you corrected, yes 26 and 28 at halloween in 1970 makes them 19 & 21 ish I cannot find Toms V police reports page with the 1-75 p . Almost sure I saw it 3 p after the report you posted ,containing Humble oil employees and believed it to still be about Micheal R and Robert H. what does S Cal have to do with it ? the whole report sounds very suspicious .

It is page 72 of that reports pages Micheal R. ______ and a- Union Oil inspector / worker that I saw,but who’s to say he didn’t work at humble in 63. Very interesting report to say the least. – He talks of the zodiac murders a lot . knows much about the LB area –states the zodiac will never be caught , made statements to a informant of 2 other people zodiac killed that have not been reported . Is reported to put his fingers to his nose and scream . Owns a 9mm & 45 auto – was responsible for a car wreck that killed two people in 68. He constantly walks with his head down ,has never been out with a girl.

So Does anyone think this suspect warrants further investigation ?

I know who that guy is, and I actually tried to get some handwriting from him, but had no luck. He still lives in the Solano County area

Yes traveler 1st just way too many odd and compelling items here to dismiss .As the report says further follow up coming .
The p72 report filed oct. 11 1970 ,did he show up then or the police decided to try it that day on purpose ?
Micheal Reier _______. would have been of even more interest when in Aug 71 ALA is discovered.

Mystery remains, how & why he showed up in a case he wasnt involved in,asking that his guns be tested against Zodiac’s. It caught my eye, he is related to some people with last name, TARBOX

The attorney Robert Tarbox with the merchant marine suspect was from Vallejo. Went to school with ALA as I recall. So maybe there is a connection.

Now that is odd. Would it have be standard procedure to test a gun from a-man-off-the-street just because the gun’s owner asked that it be tested without a stated reason? Such an odd request.

My first thought was Michael _____ who was asked to come in perhaps had used Robert Smith’s handgun so Robert was doing some CYA.

I’ve been thinking about the type of work someone might undertake at a large refinery – it seems very plausible that certain workmen would need to use Wingwalkers for certain maintenance jobs as there are undoubtedly large structures like plane wings that are fragile and contain highly flammable liquid. Could the whole military/wingwalker angle be a mistake?

Whoah. I know this is an old thread, but I like this. This symbol and his use of the word "cerous" seems too coincidental to ignore. I mean, that only underlines to me his abilities with chemicals, or his knowledge of them, which is in keeping with someone who would know how to make bombs.
