I agree. I think Anybody that is doing that should stop stating it as fact

in one of these posts, didn’t Ross talk about his need to write to
keep his sanity when he lived at the Y?

You are right, and I think we posted that info recently, but I have to go back and look again. The Ross stuff is becoming so loaded up, I am having a problem remembering the details, and when they were presented, and by whom :?

Here it is-

If this statement is true, this proves Ross thought about violence towards others

"yes" to the violence Morf….and that he stayed at the Y! we just will never
know exactly where or when. he was obviously transitory. and, i think it’s
safe to say had little money. it’s even possible he sometimes may have
spent a night at a homeless shelter. in case no one has noticed, we have
a large number of people in this country today that are homeless.

Well, we know that he was staying at the YMCA circa his Riverside college days. We know, he also lived at Noelle Jette’s house. When he got to Santa Cruz,we know from the listing in the directory, he was living at the apt on 2nd St. After that, he vanishes. Was he bouncing from place to place? Living in basements, or with Friends? or at the YMCA? It remains unknown.

The assumption that Ross may have lived at a YMCA aside from Riverside is not an idle one. Ross’s father was employed by the YMCA in New York and Glendale CA and no doubt had many contacts within the organization. All of his sons would have been quite familiar with the organization, too. It would be quite natural for Ross to seek housing at a YMCA. That said, we do need to try to confirm whether Ross stayed at another YMCA besides Riverside.

Just because there is a YMCA in a community, it does not guarantee that they provided housing for anyone. Some "Y’s" are little more than recreation centers.

he most likely lost his job at the college after the phone booth
incident. if he was temporarily institutionalized over it, what
would he do if he had no money when they released him? there
aren’t a lot of options. stay with friends? for all we know, he could
have made a new friend in the institution that was from San Fran.
we have the post in his own words about staying at the Y. there’s
no way at this time to prove it, but a reasonable assumption can
be made that he could have sometimes stayed in San Fran at the Y.
and just as reasonable, Vallejo. his father’s employment for the Y
gave him a lot of experience with that situation also. and has been
said before, you won’t show up in a Polk’s if you’re staying there either.
his "vocation" as a dishwasher meant he could have got that job
just about anywhere he went. and, quite easily. restaurants are
always looking for dishwashers. he could have even worked for a bit at
the IHOP in Vallejo and stayed at the Y there. all he needed was a car.
and the recent post makes it most likely that he drove.

there are a few people listed as working with Darlene in the 69 Vallejo directory. I may try to reach out to them to see if they recognize Ross from there

bbp, have you read the Ross PI thread? A conservatorship was created for Ross in 1970 in Santa Cruz. The conservatorship would not have been filed for him in that city unless he lived there. If Santa Cruz had Ross committed in 1968 after the phone booth incident and his 72 hour hold for a mental evaluation, Ross would have eventually been released back to Santa Cruz.

Ross would have collected disability if it was determined that he could not work because of his mental disability. The conservator would have been the one to receive his check and dole out his money to him.

It’s sealed, so we don’t know who the conservator was. I think his Brother Jon was in another state for school. Had Tim divorced from Bonnie by this time and wound up back in CA? Also, curious, Ross’s job listed on his death cert was ‘Dishwasher’. Could he have been doing that at the time of his death, or could it have been the last job he held, years earlier? Would it have read ‘disabled’ or ‘unemployed’ if he was not working at the time of his death?

Morf most likely if Ross was deemed unable to managed his own finances, which is basically what a conservator does, he was placed in a group home for the mentally disabled after being released from a mental institution. We do know that Ross was in Agnews at some point and considering when Agnews quit taking mental patients it would have been in the late 60’s to very early 70s that Ross was there. Agnews would have been the closest state mental institution to Santa Cruz at that time.

If Ross was in a group home the group home was likely the conservator.

PLEASE, refrain from the "could have’s"…..he could have done a lot of things, but your "reasonable assumptions" just takes it too far. Now you have him possibly working at the Ihop because he washed dishes?

"Maybe, could have"….Ross could have done a lot of things, but there is absolutely zero proof of this.
