Is this multi-tool pen something that would have been available in 1990 when the card was mailed?

Yes, most definitely.

The ‘r’s all wrong.

Someone mentioned cross referencing the DNA on the stamps.

Don’t hold your breath waiting for that obvious step to be taken.

An "Exhaustive Approach" from the police?

Surely you jest.

Pardon, the keys were found to belong to a man named “sam” who lived in eureka in 1990?

Harvey Colliver’s daughter cheri lived with her partner named Sam in eureka in the 1990’s .

I can show proof that Cheri’s partner was named Sam and that they lived in eureka during 1990. Is this a interesting avenue to follow up with? i don’t know Sams surname however.

Nice find! So many pieces fitting all snug in this puzzle! Slowly but surely. It’s coming together.

Here we go:
letter from cheri: I’ll display the contents of the letter when found again.

Letter to cheri mentioning “Sam”:

checks made to cheri displaying possibly Sam’s surname:

Eureka anyone?

“andy betts, Subject: 1990 Christmas Card Sat Jun 26, 2010 2:57 pm

The keys were checked, and found to belong to Sam at a po box in Eureka.
Myself and Dahlia were the ones who helped Tom V. with his Sam investigation.
Sam was a pretty interesting person, and kept us going for a while.
I saw the Card, and believe that it was sent from the Zodiac, but Sam was not the Zodiac.
That thing that was attached to the keys that Mike B said had to be a magnet, turns out that it could have been a pen light. A pen light would make a lot more sense if it was from the Z, not a magnet. I have had these small pen lights before, and I used them to see key holes at night. Z claimed to have used one on his gun at Lake Herman rd.

The picture of keys that were sent with the Christmas card, I think was another game the z likes to play. He could have found them on the ground somewhere ? They were traced to Sam is how he became a suspect.
There are certain things that I have noticed on other cards sent from the Z, that I found on this Eureka card, is why I believe it is a true Z card.

Look back at all the Z like things that happened in 1990 ? Something made him come out from under his rock that yr. It was also the same yr that my suspect forced me to quit my job of many yrs. He was getting more brazen, pointing guns at me, then trying to force me off of roads late at night. It would have been too easy for him to get me had I stayed at my job, and drive 45 miles home each night.
I went into hiding for a few months, but he found me anyway.

My suspect loves his game of cat and mouse, me being the mouse of course lol.”

I think Cheri and Sam split around this point in time.

Hi, I think if the Eureka Card was from Zodiac that the image of the two keys may have been a cryptic response to the New York Zodiac copycat. Perhaps I have missed something but comments here do not seem to reflect the fact that "Sam" is merely a name Tom gave the suspect to protect the individual’s identity. As far as I know the keys were found to belong to "Sam" who lived in Eureka but I don’t know much else about him (I would visit Tom’s site to learn more). It seemed Sam was ruled out by DNA along with other POIs but the testing ultimately turned out to not be legitimate so he is still a suspect though now deceased. If Sam was the Zodiac though I have no idea why he would have included an image of a traceable personal possession. It was 1990 so DNA had become a known practise and these keys had identifying numbers on them. This would be very reckless if he actually lived in Eureka. In my opinion Sandy may well be correct that the Zodiac obtained Sam’s keys through other means.

Yes, since his real name has already been posted at Tom’s sight I guess there is no harm in saying his real name was Chester Clark Klingel.

There is something about this letter that nags me. I can’t put my finger on it. Those dang keys are a serious clue in my mind, and I can’t fathom their significance yet.

Is it possible that the numbers are ZIP codes? Not that the USPS put them there as ZIP codes, but maybe Zodiac just happened upon keys with numbers that happen to be significant ZIP codes to him.

Are they pointing in directions? Those keyes REALLY look posed to me–not just thrown on a copier. They were placed with care to indicate something. Is the "fulcrum" of the keychain the Stine murder scene? That makes the penlight pointing at LB, one key at Vallejo, and another key at Riverside.

The more I dwell on this subject the more I believe it’s the PLACEMENT of the keys that was important to Z rather than the objects themselves.

The only other thing I can think of is that these are keys taken from unknown victims.

Of course, none of this means anything if it’s unrelated. But is sure has the feel of Zodiac involvement.
