So, I got this giant wart…… wait, that’s not what I was going to ask advice about :D

I am making my first trip to California and was wondering what the best pizza joint is in the L.A. area? What are some restaurants I should try? I will definitely be trying In-N0Out, but that’s about the only place I know of out there. Has anyone ate at a heavy metal burger joint in Alhambra called Grill ‘Em All? If so, how is it?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

I’ve never been there, but any one of these appeal to me very much:

EDIT: Although, since you live in NM these may be old hat for you.

Best pizza hands-down is Pizzeria Mozza. Hard to get in though.

Never heard of the burger joint. What kind of food do you like? Comfort food? Fine dining? L.A. has something for everyone.

There is also a taco truck out there called tits n tacos lol. I haven’t had many good tacos here in NM but I will probably try one of the spots from the link you posted.

Thanks, I will definitely try that place. Pizza is my favorite. I really want to find a place that has good fish and chips. I know we are going to some famous deli place that opened in the 30s and a lot of celebrities used to hang out there. Can’t remember the name. Cantino’s or something like that.

After you’ve had your pizza and are ready for a change of pace, this is my favorite inexpensive, no reservations needed restaurant in Southern California (El Pollo Loco a close second…)

The burritos are really special and it’s very inexpensive. I’ve always gone to the Santa Monica location…

Go to Carney’s on sunset for food (burgers, wings, etc) in the old train car. Also good comedy at The Comedy Store if you are into that sort of thing. Venice Beach only if you are in a very touristy mood. Check out the seventh veil …. Lol.

You might mean Canter’s… which is really not that great. It has a "special" sort of ambience. If you want a great sandwich in Santa Monica try Bay Cities Italian Deli and get the "Godmother".

Batterfish in Encino is great for fish in chips… but it’s way out in the Valley. If you’re stuck in town, try Charlie’s Fish on Pico.

We were planning on going to Canter’s, actually. My girlfriend and her family used to go there every year when they would go to California, but they said it wasn’t good last year and the recent reviews of the place sound like it has gone way downhill. I might check out the Comedy Store. Does Pauly Shore’s mom still own the place? My brother won a comedy competition one year and the prize was a guest set at the Comedy Store, but he turned it down because a lot of comedians have their jokes stolen there.

King Diamond is playing in L.A. the last night I will be there!!! Danzig is doing a gig there on Halloween night, but we will be at Knotts Berry that night.

Oh man PM me a link to your bro’s comedy please! I love comedy. And yeah I can see how jokes could be stolen at the comedy store, but where in LA would hangers on not try to leach off of other’s talents? It’s a soulless city in that respect. I had never heard that about the comedy store before. Are you sure about that? crazy!

Not sure about Pauly’s mom owning it. All I know is there’s a huge history of the biggest comedy acts ever having made their name there.

I go down to LA once a year for a week. There is a great burger place, it’s a local chain, called Stout. I try to go there at least once when I’m there. It’s a tad pricey but there are no burgers where I live that come close to theirs. They have a big selection of craft beers on tap, too.

Well I’m sure glad you didn’t go to the comedy store last night. So f’d up! Murder happened there. That kind of thing just doesn’t happen at The Comedy Store. I’m so upset.

Lol found this video when searching about the Comedy Store murder (RIP Richard James) and this video catches Jesus literally walking into the crime scene and taking pictures with a drunk guy from Glasgow. Jesus made it clear that he did not murder the guy. I trust him for some reason.

It gets good about 2 minutes in.

But what if it really WAS Jesus? Only in LA.
