Marcelo, awesome. One day a team I support will win something!

Meantime, I watched "The Tourist" last night. OK-ish, yes. (Not exactly unpredictable.)

Watching the Today Show’s coverage of the morning of 9/11/01 on MSNBC. I vividly remember waking up to pick up my kids from preschool and turning on the TV that morning just in time to see the first plane hit the Twin Towers. So much confusion and misinformation but I remember thinking immediately how my children’s lives would be changed based on this one event. I think that worry is just coming to fruition.

Curious what everyone’s experiences were but please leave your politics at the door…

Most people will remember exactly where they were and what they were doing when the first tower was hit. It’s an event akin to President Kennedy’s assassination in that respect.

I was driving to work, on the west coast, listening to the radio. It was a rock station that rarely broke into programing for news but from the time I turned on the radio it was non-stop commentary describing events as they were unfolding. The first tower was hit before I completed the 10 minute drive to my job. I worked at the proshop of the golf course at the county fair grounds and opened up in the morning. We had a TV in the proshop, I turned it on before I counted out the till and started the coffee. It turned out to be the slowest day ever at the golf course, I had maybe 3 golfers come into play that day. I was glued to the TV for most of my shift.

The event was completely surreal and I felt stunned that anything like that could happen on US soil.

The memory of that day 12 years ago is very vivid. I watched it live,I remember seeing as the 2nd plane struck the other tower, and instantly knowing that we were under attack. Within 2 days, the skies were empty of planes after the FAA ordered no flights, and I remember talking to some of the guys out in the parking lot of my work, when suddenly, a jet fighter shot over us out to the west. We looked out in the distance to see where the jet was going, and saw a large airplane flying towards us, with a 2nd jet next to it ‘escorting’ it. (I worked very close to McGuire AFB in NJ). As the two jets escorted the bigger plane in, and they got into a landing position, they passed right over our parking lot, at a very low altitude. It was then that we could see the markings & insignia, and that the plane we were looking at was Air Force One, with George Bush on board. He landed over at the base, and then boarded a chopper that took him to NYC and to ground zero.

I also vividly remember how people all over the country, from all walks of life and backgrunds, races, etc united to support the victims, and the heroes that tried to help, but wound up giving their lives. That was a terrible moment in our history, but in the long run, it opened our eyes, and was a wake up call for us. Let’s hope that it never happens again.

Aeeeeii, it’s hard to wait for next week’s episode.

Would you want Walter White for your bro-in-law?

I was in work and the radio was on in the studio. First reports were a light aircraft, then possible hijack, then commercial airline, then the second plane. Everyone went to the boardroom at that point and we put the TV on. My friend picked me up after work and drove me to my other friend’s house for band practice, we didn’t practice that I can recall, we all just sat watching the news and feeling slightly shell shocked.

I worked for a publishing company and we were opening a new office building equipped with a 70-foot cinema complex, so we sat and watched it live in there. Our guests included a lot of newspaper guys, including some from the New York Times, Washington Post and so on, who knew people in the towers. It was absolutely surreal. Only one positive thing came out of it – my American colleague turned to me and said "The IRA just went out of business". True.

Watching Sons Of Anarchy….great show! Counting down to Walking dead, only 4 more weeks. In the meantime, Breaking Bad and Dexter are filling my tv time..speaking of which, anybody else watch that last Breaking Bad episode? Really really awesome, and heading in the direction I thought it would.

I really am not liking this season of Breaking Bad. It seems so contrived. So many "Ah Ha!" moments. What took you guys so long to figure this out? wow. what a coincidence that it just happens to all unravel in the last few episodes. I was disappointed that Walt Jr. didn’t find out Todd shot that kid, Badger and Skinny Pete found that Walt killed Mike, Lydia found out that Walt caused the plane crash, Walt’s mom revealed to be Gus Fring’s boss, Walt never had cancer, that dude from Grey Matter dies of a blue meth overdose and leaves his millions of dollars to Walt, and that Skyler is Jon Snow’s mom.

Loved Dogma. J&SB Strike Back was on a few nights ago, managed to miss it somehow but had seen it before. Clerks 3, interesting, must keep an eye out for that if it happens.
