I would like to hear the opinion of the other forum members about the handwriting on the note and envelop. Could this be Zodiac’s work or not?
My immediate reaction is, probably not. However, I find if you look at any handwriting long enough, you can find similarities.
‘The General’ who sent a threatening letter to Colonel Sanders in KY, also sent one to Sammy Davis Jr in Las Vegas:

Slightly like Count Marco, but really only slightly (th).
Another one…have a look at the ‘G’ in General and compare it with the ‘G’ on the envelope of the Donna Lass Christmas card.
Although there might be some similarities in it, I’d say – negative. No identical Z handwriting or any previously discussed handwriting, imo.
The only thing that made me really stop immediately was the ‘L’ which is sort of bent in the lower part. I have seen it before, however cannot remember where it had been. Couldn’t find it in any Z letters yet, Z had a normal ‘L’ or ‘I’ for the small one. Nevertheless, have seen it before..
The L’s with the curve at the bottom, can be seen on the LA Times envelope from Zodiac. There are more but can’t think of which ones.

Still thnx, Morf!!!
I don’t like the capital A’s. Too straight and pointy (professional term lol).
Z may have some that are similar but for the most part Z’s capital A’s had slightly bowed uprights and point at which they met was usually right of centre. Even when it was centred there was still a slight bow on the uprights. The A’s in the handwriting posted here are pretty consistant. It’s enough for me rule it out because it looks like habit, as do Z’s and the two habits don’t match.

QT, The L that was like the one with the hump at the bottom is something that was done by Zodiac. You will see it on the LA Times envelope 3-13 -71
Lmao. General Sherman. Sherman: principal military responsibility for Kentucky, relieved of command in Kentucky by his own request and calling up a Kentucky Colonel. Lol. Too funny.
I would love to see the Davis one.

Here is my two cents, I would not be surprised if it were written by Zodiac. I do see more than just a few similarities in the writing and especially the spacing that we all know was a dead give away for it being Zodiac’s style. There is a very good chance that Zodiac was in the LA area at that time and left northern Calif. for LA in March of 1971.
The letter sent from Pleasanton to the LA Times is a very good clue to that venture, because that is the way most people would go to LA from the east bay areas.
The Capitol A that is pointed could be his way of making anyone wonder if he had written it or not? Take the Citizen letter for instance , if that was from Zodiac he did his" A "exactly that way on that one.
If Zodiac was the Man that Darlene spoke about ,who was a traveler and I believe that he was, then when we didn’t hear form him , he could have been in LA from say April 71 to the end of Dec 73 and then possibly on the east coast from Aug. 74 to march or April 1978 ?
The letter in April 78 was almost giving us too much information, if it was from Zodiac and most of you know that I still believe it was authentic. In that letter he stated he was back , then covered it up by saying I have always been here. A slip of the pen ? I think so. I think that when he was quite he was away , perhaps his job caused him to move away for a while ?
I also believe that he was not only good at making himself look very different, but that he was able to change his style of writing somewhat as well.
Zodiac was one who had to be better than the police etc. So making himself a higher rank than the Colonel certainly fits his MO.
