Harms & Syar Industries, listed at 275 Mini Dr Vallejo in the 70 Phone Book. Curious, are they a second location in addition to the LHR Quarry?
Also, curious about the name, HARMS, who was the Harms part of that title??? Any help is appreciated, thanks

Jens and Helge Harms (brothers) were road asphalt merchants, it seems. They were in business with Clarence Syar – multiple mutual enterprises, it would seem. Syar was a well known bay area businessman, from what I can gather. The brothers less so – but I came across this document (it’s a .pdf file) which seems to deal with a legal dispute of some sort – take a look at it:

Hm. Jens and Helge – those are Norwegian names. Again with the damn Norwegian connection!
EDIT I can’t vouch for Jens and Helge being asphalt merchants on closer inspection – it was the appellant in the legal dispute who was an asphalt merchant. But the brothers clearly dealt in something similar – that sort of industry/business. Which would tie in nicely with them owning a quarry.
Thanks for the info. The Syar industries had the quarry on Lake Herman Rd and used tnt for blowing stuff up

I mentioned this company 15 yrs ago on Zkiller.com and how the shift change and the time of the Lake Herman rd shooting took place about the time of that shift change . The things that Zodiac mentioned in his bomb making, Syar had pretty much all of it right there. I did have a suspect I was looking at who worked there in 68-69 in the lab department.
Zam and I went there , even spoke to some of the truck drivers , I know she has posted pictures of that trip on this site ( Maye the Vallejo thread ?) My brother in-law drove Syar’s water truck at the Vallejo speedway to keep down the dust between races. They have a huge office in Napa, you can see it on your right, as you enter Napa from Vallejo. Graysmith mentioned Syar in his first Z book, but misspelled the name.
Humble oil wasn’t the only place one would have to drive on Lake Herman rd to get to work, Syar was the other one. Ricardo and I have sat there at the crime scene on the anniversary date, noticed how much traffic there is around 10:30pm to about 10:55, at 11 it becomes very quite. Did Zodiac know this and wait for less traffic before shooting ? I think so .
