Anybody know what or who this may be referring to? I am a tad bit skeptical of the way in which the person misspelled KNEW,but it could be a simple mistake. I was wondering if he might be referring to Fred Manalli.

I can’t figure why it would be kept a secret…..Surely not nice for victim’s family and friends, and to the general populace.
Manalli was never arrested for anything as far as I know and I have talked to his sister. Besides Manalli died in Santa Rosa not Santa Cruz. He died as a result from a car accident and wasn’t "killed". When someone says killed I tend to think it was at the hands of another but maybe the poster who commented wasn’t very good at expressing themself.
Caught and killed implies a police shootout. Anyone remember where that guy who claimed he was the Zodiac was killed by police? There was a news article posted about it somewhere but I couldn’t find it.

He said that he did not know what had happened to that tape but that, "I did, in fact, hear it." I and others did a lot of research about ten years ago on that and I do not believe a tape ever existed.

He said that he did not know what had happened to that tape but that, "I did, in fact, hear it." I and others did a lot of research about ten years ago on that and I do not believe a tape ever existed.

This could be a made up story, maybe this poster never knew any cop, or maybe the cop told him about a pet suspect that he suspected of being zodiac.
As far as ‘killed’, killed to me means killed in a shootout, killed in a car accident,etc, not a natural death,but again, this statement seems too vague to try and figure out who they are referring to.

Anytime a claim that that is made and the claimant doesn’t give the name of the source and/or who the source said the suspect was by name, I can’t help but not take them serious. I mean he says his source is dead, and as far as I am aware, under US law, once a person is deceased they are no longer protected by privacy laws so they can be named? Why doesn’t he?

I thought of this guy too, but I believe this man was killed in SF.
