From 03/1970 to 04/1971, Z had sent multiple letters, made different calls (‘high season’).
In most of his letters during that period, he claimed a specific amount of victims (blue, #2-#5 confirmed by the lake berryessa car door), leading to a pretty much ‘organised’ letter chronology in relation to the murders (including the DEC/JUL/AUG/SEP/OCT reference from Dripping Pen card):

According to Z’s letters/claims, I assume nine (!) victims not being identified as Z victims, yet; to the bodycount of 17 at least.
13 – October 5, 1970, Some of them fought (POSSIBLY FAKE – no handwriting, however 13 thus correct amount of punched holes)
## – October 17, 1970, You are next (POSSIBLY FAKE – no handwriting, similar cross like the Oct 5, 1970 card
12 – March 22, 1971, Peek through the pines (POSSIBLY FAKE – few handwriting, wrong bodycount, different Z symbol on envelope)
Or Zodiac had a broken arm/finger which is why he had to paste the two Sierra/Edwards related cards with his left hand – rather unlikely but still possible. Or, that Z did not want to verify his handwriting in relation to the Lake Tahoe area but it somewhat is doubtful that these communications are actually authentic Z communication.
There might even be an additional victim in the DEC/JUL/SEP/OCT period, if Z started his bodycount without considering his potential victims from e.g. Riverside.
The first letter related to Paul Stine arrived about two days after the incident. The letter related to Radetich arrived about one week after the incident. The letter related to Kathleen Johns arrived about four months after the incident.
The ‘This State Is In Trouble‘ letter might contain a telephone number (3168398). Area code 707-316xxxx also covers some phone numbers in Vallejo but it might also be from Fairfield; where the letter was actually sent from. Anybody the possibility to look up where it’s actually from? Or was, decades ago?
I think the fact that some phone numbers in that region had started with 316 is one of our strongest leads, so far..I bet Z thought he is crackproof so nobody would realise his 7 victim numbers would actually represent his phone number..

If you look at the narrative of the Little List letter, the Zodiac chose The Mikado/Act I/Part Va – As Some Day it May Happen. It began "As some day it may hapen that a victom must be found. I’ve got a little list. I’ve got a little list, of society offenders who might well be underground who would never be missed who would never be missed". In his introduction he stated "Some I shall tie over ant hills and watch them scream + twich and sqwirm. Others shall have pine splinters driven under their nails + then burned. Others shall be placed in cages + fed salt beef untill they are gorged then I shall listen to their pleass for water and I shall laugh at them. Others will hang by their thumbs + burn in the sun then I will rub them down with deep heat to warm them up. Others I shall skin them alive + let them run around screaming. And all billiard players I shall have them play in a darkened dungen cell with crooked cues + Twisted Shoes. Yes I shall have great fun inflicting the most delicious of pain to my slaves.
Unsurprising then that the 13 Hole postcard prominently featured "The pace isn’t any slower. In fact it’s just one big thirteenth. ‘Some of them fought it was horrible". Especially when you consider the Little List letter hadn’t been released to the public by October 5th 1970, when the 13 Hole postcard was mailed. Either a massive coincidence, or the Zodiac was responsible for the 13 Hole postcard. He reaffirmed 13 victims because of the unpublished Little List letter.
The Pines card of "sought victim 12" is not out of sequence because it uses the past participle of "seek". Many believe that the card is Zodiac and refers to Donna Lass. Therefore, it is unsurprising that Donna Lass was a resident of San Francisco for the period between April 20th 1970 (10 victims) and June 26th 1970 (12 victims). She departed for Lake Tahoe just prior to June 6th 1970. So could have been "sought" as victim 12 between April 20th and June 6th. All Zodiac was doing by writing "sought" was suggesting he had targeted Lass in San Francisco.

All that you have written might be right but ‘some’ and ‘other’ are very frequent words..
One question to start with is – where is the WATCH LETTER that is mentioned in Graysmiths book? It would match such pattern..

Then, in the immediate communication following, the author pasted in the past tense "Some of them fought it was horrible". It was a continuing theme through two consecutive communications. So, if we claim that the 13 Hole postcard wasn’t Zodiac, then it was just another lucky guess by another hoaxer. There is a lot more evidence besides, that this communication was undoubtedly Zodiac, but views are generally fixed.

Again Richard , I agree with you 100 percent, very well stated! You have a better understanding of how Zodiac’s brain worked than most. I would like to read your thoughts on the Jan 29th 1974 Exorcist letter? There is a thread for it and what people think about it.
I am one of the few who believe it was a true Zodiac communication. That movie was a hot topic for a very long time. I went to the North Point theater in SF and stood in a very long line to see it. Paul Avery wrote about it on Jan 11th 1974, I would have been surprised if Zodiac didn’t comment on that movie.
I also believe there are other Zodiac letters that we have not seen.
Have you seen the Santa Claus card connected to Joan Lucinda Webster case. I have recreated the envelope, but here is the written section of the card. If you want to read more you know where to go.
There is also an unlikely Zodiac communication, but was postmarked 22 days before the 2001 Happy New Year card. It had a card cut into 4 pieces with the message "Thinking of You" just like the Halloween card stickers.
I have also found the answer to the "Daniel Please Call Home" message in the Atlanta letter section. The author should have written "Darron Please Call Home". He was the only missing child by May 2nd 1981 whose remains were never found.
Look at this newspaper clipping from the Indianapolis Star on November 29th 1980, stating "We are investigating someone calling the foster parents and hanging up", said Atlanta Public Safety Commissioner Lee Brown.

The hair on the back of my neck stood up when I saw the words"Thinking of You". I have a letter from my suspect that I have been very careful about touching. I used tweezers to get the letter out of the envelope. The heading on that letter was typed in all caps "THINKING OF YOU!!!!" , in the center of the 8 by 10 paper was a cut out newspaper clipping highlighted in yellow. It was a add from a woman in San Jose who was being stalked and was looking to find others who were stalked. I had no idea what paper the add was in or when? So I contacted her and she said it was in the SF Examiner and was about three months before I received the letter. I know my suspects DNA has to be on that letter and I can see a partial fingerprint on the tape he used to stick the add on the paper.

Yes Quagmire, As soon as Zamantha comes to my home for a visit, or someone else who knows how to scan and put it on this site, I will certainly get that done. All of us are staying home for now, so perhaps I can make a copy and send it to Morf to share? I haven’t shown that one to very many people, because I didn’t want it to get contaminated. Other notes and letters that I have received , I stupidly touched many times and let others touch. One envelope "disappeared" after showing to someone and let them take pictures of my evidence. Some letters and notes were before we knew about DNA,so any of those envelopes should have DNA on them. And now that there is touch DNA , I am very sure the "Thinking of You!!!!!" letter and envelope will have his DNA on it. I have friends who have asked me to just get some lab do the DNA testing.
I would rather have LE take what I have and test it in one of their labs to compare with the Zodiac’s DNA. I sent a email months ago to Pam Hoffsass ,who told me she has Zodiac’s DNA. ( She has not replied back) She use to work at SFPD’s Lab, but now she is in the same building where Paul Holes worked. He was interested in my case and did call me once, but he was right in the middle of catching DeAngelo and retired right after. He did look into my police reports and was the one who told me that my local police did get the name of Roberto Hernandez in 1992 on one of the many phone traps. My local police had never told me they had a name.
