Probably nothing, and I’ve done this thing before at Mike’s, but…looking at the bus bomb map I found something interesting:

Now, the cross-shaped thing in the middle of the dot is possibly the results of JPEG compression artifacts, but the filled circle is irregularly drawn.

Does anyone have a copy of the actual map? Not the one Zodiac used, of course, but a separate identical map.

The reason I ask is because that dot is very, very close to 918 Evelyn Street, Albany.

And yes, I know there’s an arrow that seems to be pointing to it, and the arrow is probably of original provenance.

Weird is all. Just one of those zynchronicity things, I guess.

EDIT: Zodiac’s sanest letter, the "citizen" missive, was mailed from Alameda County, which contains Albany.

One wonders if The Zodiac slipped, perhaps under the spell of anti-psychotics and anti-depressants, and mailed a letter closer to home….

Sorry, but the map you posted is very pixelated and I can’t make it out.

I understand your proposal !!!
I also know it is not the object of your post, I found something, or at least I think I found, but this attachment proprorção between the scale of the map just below the risk with the pen in north-south "Mount Diablo", noting that this can be done independent of scale, except some scanning poorly made.

What’s to make out? I’m not understanding your statement. I posted a zoom of the area.

Oh well. I’m sure someone one day will comment on what I’ve posted…

I get what you are saying. Here’s the original map.

Looks like that is on the original map and it is just the pixelation, but you can blow it up and compare them if you want to.

Thanks for that, Duckking.

Oh well. Here I was hoping I had stumbled onto something awesome.

Major bummer for the day.

One day someone will nail this bastard.

I hope.

I know what the original map looks like and what I am saying is that what you posted is unclear and looks nothing like the original and therefore if what everyone else sees looks like what is on my computer they will not be able to see what you are trying to point out. No disrespect meant on my part I’m just stating what I see.

Case closed. Doesn’t matter.

The dot is in the original, but the original is a photograph (I think) so it’s blurrier than Tom’s copy. Plus, Tom’s JPEG is under-sampled even though it’s a larger file. But they do look a lot alike if one is looking merely for the weird black blob.

Time to go have some ice cream and move on.

………..One wonders if The Zodiac slipped, perhaps under the spell of anti-psychotics and anti-depressants, and mailed a letter closer to home….

Some thread drift if you don’t mind.

I don’t think he slipped – I think he genuinely believed that his attempts at "disguising" his handwriting for the Zodiac letters was successful – and that he had nothing to worry about, therefore, in submitting something "in his own handwriting". (I am tremendously biased in that regard, I acknowledge.)

How do we know this was posted in "Alameda County, (which contains) Albany"?

I’ve never questioned that – I still don’t, since I see the postmark is clear enough – but I’ve never checked to see what the relationship is between the postcode and the location, and I actually don’t see any way to do so on the dear old interweb.
Can someone help out the poor foreigner?
The card says "CA 945" on the address side.
