I heard reference to slave and master in a few areas as well as being controlled. this is an area to consider. if Z was a slave and forced to kill along with to weak to not do so, this covers several things in theory. first being the handwritting. if the master wrote but the slave killed, how can you compare? as well as if that scenario was true, it explains the oddities in the search of the trailer and the toys, as well as explain the seeming want to get caught but not able to actually get caught. in his time he leaves clues and cries for help, but during letters, killings, etc under the masters command, can’t ask for help or leave clues for fear of the masters retaliation. just a thought.
Are you talking about Allen?
yes but even if removed from allen, just the thought and possibility
I can’t rule out the idea of two or more people getting their jollies from this whole Zodiac thing, but I see them as equal conspirators rather than a master and slave.
I’ve always wondered about the possibility of the whole thing being carried out by two membes of a disfunctional family – perhaps a father and son?
LE might have talked to one of them at some point but found they either had an alibi or didn’t match the handwriting. Would explain them never being able to pin the whole thing on one suspect in almost 50 years.

the only reason i am unsure about equal, is eventually you would think the lack of control over the other would cause some sort of tension at some point and possibly result in a slip up and capture. i as well dwelled on the equal bit a while.
