This AM Vasa Croe called my attention to some stuff that a guy named Matthew had posted. I was at work and by the time I got home it had been removed as spam. I wish it had been left up so that we could explore its merits or lack thereof. Unless someone knows it was bogus, maybe it would have been best to leave it be for a while until we could get a handle on his credibility.

Jabberwocky

`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

So we know for a fact that he did the drawings? I only had my
phone and it was kind of staggering to take it all in. I wanted
to stick my finger in the wound like gary stewart’s stuff.

Hi Mike….yeah it was pretty bad. Very rambling posts with severe pareidolia mixed into some images he mirrored. Talked about seeing all kinds of faces and stuff in them. I don’t think you missed anything except for a forum meltdown in real time.

As I understand it, this guy "Matthew" basically accused Robert Graysmith of being the Zodiac killer, or did I get that wrong?

Hi, english is not my first language so please bear with me :)

Hi-

I think the easiest one to question is the Stine envelope. Those black blotches on it presumably come from the ninhydrin and what reacted with it on the envelope. Therefore, the "space man" or whatever that is was not on the letter before it was handled in such a way as to lead to that pattern of ninhydrin. Does that sound right?

Say what you will about his work but the drawings are stunning and exquisite. I don’t know about the evidentiary value of this stuff but if he were offering framed prints I’d be interested, LOL.

Dr. Rorschach would be proud of this stuff.

S’a pity there has been so much trollage over the years. There may have been ideas and areas in his stuff worth offshooting from and exploring (as I think Zodiac was in the artistic end of the spectrum to some degree) but alas there seems to be this subculture of uber-smart theories and theorists who can’t help but flood post. I blame the internet. :D

He’s solved it! And you reactionary fools threw him out! Oh, the humanity…

I take an interest – more and more, actually – not only in the Z case but in the many, erm, fascinating people who have gotten themselves caught up in it over the years. So this is good stuff. For those of you who may know – is this the same guy who was active on Butterfield’s forum some years ago? Or was that a different "hidden faces in the letters" character?

Well, I guess that where some people see "stunning and exquisite," other people, like myself, see total and utter crap. A good deal of what he was "seeing" wasn’t even anything that was IN the actual images anyway, it was compression artifacts from bad resizing of the (already lossy to start with) JPEG images.

For those of you who may know – is this the same guy who was active on Butterfield’s forum some years ago? Or was that a different "hidden faces in the letters" character?

Um no, that was someone different. Dr. Larry D’Antonio, who promised a book called "The Artwork of the Zodiac Killer: The Evidence that was Missed." The book never appeared, but a short article about it is here:

http://www.zoominfo.com/p/Lawrence-D%27 … 1347917891

Dr. D’Antonio wasn’t using a mirror (that I know of) but was recording his LCD computer screen with a camcorder, and also doing something or other with silly putty.
