Do you think you have decode a victim name?

I seem to have managed to decrypt sensitive information from a piece of z’s corpus. I am 99.5% certain that the information is valid.

Can somebody message me an e-mail address (or fax number) from FBI’s cryptanalysis lab where I can submit this information for validation? I wouldn’t be asking if this wasn’t serious.

What does "sensitive information" from a "piece of Z’s corpus" mean?

In the past I have communicated with the FBI Cryptanalysis unit. I can tell you that they do not want to see unexamined work. I strongly suggest you post your work so it can be examined by others. The men who solved the Z340 are members here, and there are many members here with years, sometimes decades, of experience in codes in general and the Zodiac codes specifically. What you think is a valid breakthrough may be. But based on experience your work may also have errors, mistakes and questionable points that would strongly benefit from the review of others with more and/or different experience in codes than you have.

I personally will not share FBI or police contact information with anyone unless I have personally examined the work in question, and I know that others who have communicated with the FBI cryptanalysis unit, like Doranchak, feel the same way.

If you think your work reveals something sensitive, like the name of a victim or a suspect name of a living person, you can post your work in our secret section, which only members can see, not the general public. Post it here: viewforum.php?f=107

If you don’t want to post it even in the secret section, you could send it to me in a PM. But it is far better if you post it, as you can then get the benefit of several people looking at it.

Good idea, share it behind closed doors with your peers, it worked out great for them. I am sure Doranchak and others will give you honest evaluations

Honestly, even if you did have / found someone at FBI to send it to, you would likely get an "OK, thanks for your submission" letter. And then never hear anything back from them, ever.

I believe they get these kinds of things all the time, from all kinds of people, about all sorts of case, and that is their standard procedure.

I’m sure Dave would be happy to look at it, let you know if it looks valid, and hold it in confidence.
