Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the heads-up, will check that out.
I put it on yesterday 1 hour before I went to sleep. Dimmed the lights and computer screen completely and just listened. Michael Butterfield sounds very intelligent and I had a great time hearing out this interview.
At 45:45, I think he is referring to Ross Sullivan being the only suspect he has taken serous interest in.
Thanks for posting this info. Mike emailed me about this show, but I lost the email and couldn’t figure out when he was going to be on

Yes, MB does a good job — keeps it interesting and very fact-based. I can’t tell if at 45:45 he’s talking about Ross Sullivan or not, he keeps that pretty open-ended.
I don’t want to speak for Mike, but here’s what he had to say about the suspect that he thought was "interesting", paraphrased:
Not one of the popular suspects, not many people know about him.
He has been discussed recently.
He was reported to the police. Not enough to rule him in or out.
As far as I can tell the only people who fit that description are Sullivan and Grant, and I’m pretty sure he doesn’t like Grant as a suspect.
He talks about some of the myths about the case, mostly involving Graysmith. Here’s a couple off the top of my head that seem to have fallen out of public perception:
His crime scenes can be traced along radians. Many some debate there, but I think most people no longer accept that.
His crime scenes form a giant "Z".
He made cross shape cuts into the bodies of his victims.
Thankfully those things are forgotten, when there was a time they were commonly reported as factual.
As far as I can tell the only people who fit that description are Sullivan and Grant, and I’m pretty sure he doesn’t like Grant as a suspect.
It’s worth noting that MB mentioned Ross in a post as far back as 1999. He is also very pro Riverside connection. So it would make sense he would suspect Ross.
I don’t know if MB has followed how much we now know about Ross…
Why would he not just say who it is he is talking about? It seems he doesn’t want his opinion to matter.
Why would he not just say who it is he is talking about? It seems he doesn’t want his opinion to matter.
Because he has always steered away from Suspects in the case, or accusing People, and has stuck to the case facts

Yes, he didn’t take the interviewer’s bait, there. He was very clear that there isn’t enough evidence confirming or denying involvement to state the person’s name. Admirably objective.
Thanks for the heads up. Downloading and listening to on the way to work this evening.

He has also probably seen posts about Ross’ brother not wanting to help out or really even talk about Ross, perhaps that played into it as well.
A few minutes ago on a toilet not very far, far away….
