I think the unnamed park ranger suspect at Yosemite National park should have a place here . I have tried to copy the files from the old site but have failed , I 1st learned of it watching the Cold Case files Zodiac TV show .
Where is stated that park employees contacted police after this ranger was acting strange around the zodiac killings times and had a resemblence to the composite sketch.
On the program it was said "authorities thought they had there man."
maybe morf will chime in, he pointed ouut that there was a mention of him in the FBI files.

I have viewed the You tube CCF 1/6 , when it is not blocked and it is shorter than the TV version I remember from 2010 and does not have the Yosemite dialog, also the Lake Berryessa part is cut down .

I have that documentary on DVD and I do not recall them mentioning the Park Ranger

Dennis was the park ranger at Berryessa (the very same one who packed up the crime scene into a box before the police arrived and who had taken aerial shots of the killing site within the prior week, the exact day escapes my memory at present but it may have been as close as 24 hours prior to the murder) I believe Dennis was the suspect and in some people’s mind still is
Ray was a police officer Napa County Sheriff’s Deputy and the one who is credited with first finding the writing on Hartnell’s car.

Is he the younger uniformed officer in the famous photo of the 2 looking at the r door writing ? seems to me these two should be studied more. I was reading about the Yosemite summer firefall at http://firefall.info/readers.html
and one comment says many young trainie rangers were from the south ,mississippi etc.
and some of those posts elude to the fact that watching the fire fall at the bottom was a teen make out place in the dark.

I saw the mention of the park ranger early on in the series it showed a little about the Yosemite park footage this was in 2010 on TV, the clips on youtube do not have it , and seems shorter than the TV series … also wonder why the 1st series is blocked here in the US
So let’s get this straight – this Park Ranger attempted to "pack up" the crime scene after the LB murders and he took aerial photos of the crime scene not long before the murders? Wish we knew more about him. Interesting post Ace. Never heard of this guy before.

but ,yes he never really is talked of. He has to be the first real Z suspect . On the show it said multiple coworkers stated he was acting strange around the time of the murders and his close resemblance to the composite sketch, thought it said they would find him on a trail talking to himself angrily too. and ruled out because of hand writing
No update on this POI? Yosimite isn’t that far, but also isn’t very close to the murder scenes. Any connection to bay area/Napa?
