Interesting that Cossette Ellison lived in the Canyon & went to the Canyon School prior to going to Campolindo High. She was last seen getting off her school buss. Phillip Hughes was the main suspect, but I don’t believe he was found guilty.

Very interesting story Zamantha ! If I read it correctly, the date was March 17th 1969. That was the date of Darlene Ferrin’s last birthday, she was killed 4 months later.
One yr and one month later, Zodiac sent his bomb letter. I was still living in Napa at that time with a new born baby, so I didn’t hear about that bomb. Thanks for the story.
One of my suspects had a po box at the post office in Moraga.
After stumbling across this story while researching something else, the possibility that Ted Kaczynski could’ve done this one struck me.
Similar to the Berkeley power line tower bomb of 1970, the perp new exactly where to place the explosives, and scarily just missed a much more devastating explosion by seconds.
Destroying an aviation fuel line – sounds kinda anti-technology.

Ted didn’t actually manage to kill anyone until his 11th bombing in 1985 — because he didn’t know what he was doing — so it seems unlikely that he could’ve pulled off an attack of such magnitude as early as 1969. The article also points out that the bomber had "insider’s knowledge" of the pipeline, which also seems to point away from Ted.
