Sorry for all unrelated items posted on this topic. Just puzzling over this cipher.

One other idea (and apologies if this has been written about elsewhere) is that if the circled 8’s are indeed Taurus symbols then Z could be saying that he’s a Triple Taurus… which, given the way the sun, moon and ascendant signs are determined would point to the date and location of Z’s birth. Of course, I know next to nothing about astrology, so someone with more knowledge could maybe chime in.

TAURUS THE POET

Persian Poet and astrologer Omar Khayyam was a triple Taurus who scandalized English Victorian readers with his erotic masterpiece, The Rubaiyat.

"Come, fill the Cup, and in the fire of Spring,
Your Winter-garment of Repentance fling:
The Bird of Time has but
a little way To flutter—
and the Bird is on the Wing."

A triple Taurus, per your theory, would be a person who’s sun, moon, and rising signs all are Taurus. Taurus is an earth sign and the most stubborn sign of the zodiac. They’re represented by the bull. People with a sun in Taurus would be born in the end of April – beginning of May. If their moon sign and rising sign are also Taurus, it might be possible to go back and see which dates during the sign of Taurus that the moon and rising sign also moved into Taurus. Would need to go through each consecutive year and look at the astrological significance of the moon and rising signs being Taurus in relation to the Taurus sun sign. Each year likely there is a day/s during Taurus when the sun and moon line up in Taurus as well. So I’m not sure any significance in finding an exact birth year could be determined by knowing he was a triple Taurus.

There are 4 elements in the zodiac: earth, fire, air, and water. Earth signs like Taurus are represented by the pentacles in the tarot. Earth signs are very concerned with security, practicality, and the maintenance and upkeep of tangible material possessions. They tend to have a very realistic and angry sense of humor at times – a la one of their famous Taurus buddy George Carlin. They are very good planners and leaders.

Anyhow, I don’t think we could figure out his exact birth year without question based on the triple Taurus theory. Still, I think your theory has merit.

I know of one person who was a Taurus, and born on May 11. Graduated with Cheri Jo Bates, and wound up living in Vallejo in 1969-

Morf, if you have this POIs birthdate available please let me know. Also his birth time would give more focus into his birth chart. Will check for you to see if he is a triple Taurus.

S’a pity it’s three 8’s though. I know looking at the various qualities of that cipher over the years it’s easy to see them as Taurus symbols but with better quality versions surfacing over the years I think it’s time to finally concede that they are 8’s.

Here’s the relevant section with the levels adjusted to illustrate. The heavier outline of the three 8’s is clearly visible. I can see it without altering it but I thought this might help.

Fine, T1, I concede. Those are definitely 8’s. Next theory coming up…

I’m not 100% convinced they are eights. They may be two circles one above the other within a circle. I know some people make their eights using two circles. The examples we have from Z, the car door and the button letter, he clearly makes the eight with one continuous line. I don’t see that here, just my opinion.

A good point and I believe I have an answer.

I think he does both. It’s a little hard to show but I think there are both instances in Z13. The first being the traditional or crossover 8 as you have mentioned and I’ve included your cited example from the car door. The example I posted to show the complete edges of whole 8’s doesn’t retain the flow/overlay pattern left by the pen. In the instance show below I believe there is evidence that this is a ‘cross-over’ 8. The other version, being basically two circles (or what appears to be anyway) is also employed by Zodiac. The example shown here is from the Belli Letter envelope.

So, that’s two examples/versions of Zodiac’s 8’s which appear to be employed in the creation of the shapes in the circles in the Z13.

What kind of person makes 8’s with two circles? Maybe he’s trying to depict mitosis. Who knows at this point.

It’s been suggested, and I’m not averse to the suggestion, that the version on the Belli Envelope exists because Zodiac may have been copying the typeface used on the address plate on Belli’s residence.

EDIT:

FWIW. I am not advocating that they are to be interpreted as 8’s. That’s a whole n’other discussion. I am merely suggesting that there appears to be interpretive and supportive visual evidence suggesting that Zodiac created the shapes, in his mind, as 8 shapes as opposed to taurus shapes.

T 1st

You are right. Z does make the number eight on the Belli envelope as one circle above the other. Thanks for bringing that to my attention! You have made me a believer. It’s an 8.

I’ve never seen this reference before. Could very well be.

Yeah that’s the one. Quite compelling or at the very least interesting/creepy in that it adds another dimension to Zodiac’s communications. If in fact it is the case. I don’t know to be honest but it fits my intermittent theory that Zodiac either had some graphic experience or at the very least a knowledge/interest in those areas.

Apologies nevertheless for derailing your thread. It just happened to be one that was active on the topic and I thought it was as good a place and time as any to post on the subject.

I’m pretty new to the case, so thanks for the information. Still lots to learn.

I feel like a weirdo now because, after reading this, I looked at my eights and…. I make them with two circles. Turns out, I always have. I don’t think I can explain this to my shrink without letting her know about my addiction to the zodiac case. I cant wait to tell her.
