Just a thought we know that Riverside submitted the prints found on the Volkswagen to the FBI for comparison with the prints on PS car. So we know the FBI must have these prints on file, has anybody ever come across a reference to this amongst the FBI released files. If not could it be possible to acquire them via a freedom of information act request ?

Do we know these prints belong to the killer?  It seems plausible that a random passerby attempted to help her and went his/her own way and never came forward and told anybody because they didn’t wish to be a homicide suspect.

Well if they compared them to the Zodiac prints and found a match that would be big, and we’d have a confirmed Z connection between the 2 cases

Hence the reason I asked this, if the FBI compared, as it seems they did, then could this be the reason why the DOJ report listed Cheri’s attack as done by Zodiac?

I don’t see how they could have matched the prints as far back as the early 70s and RPD remain fixated on BB for

50+ years ? That would constitute criminal negligence on the part of RPD so there must have been a non match ?

They also maintained that BB couldn’t be the Zodiac.

I suppose the greasy finger prints recovered from Cheri’s VW could be completely unrelated to her murder (I know that

seems highly improbable but it’s certainly possible)

Very good point. A mechanic, friend or even a passerby in a parking area could leave a good, static print in even a small amount of dirty grease.

Still need to know to whom it belongs in order to make that judgement.

That was too much!
