So your saying the blue meanies would have done a perfect crime scene investigation?

You may be right, maybe in all these years no-one with any remedial intelligence whatever has looked at it. Phone Riverview PD. +1 734-281-4222 and please tell us what they say.

Is the phone number you list correct? Wouldn’t it be RIVERSIDE PD rather than Riverview?

my take is a female was present during the attack or it was placed there on purpose by the killer..what a good way to throw off the scent by placing a small banded watch at the crime scene…kinda like size 8 boot soles tacked onto a size 11 boot..yea may be Z was playing the game in 66 like he would even more so a few years later (if CJB is Z)..

I believe they found the pin from the band of the wrist watch at the scene. Good police work. That tells us that the band was broken at that point. Unless of course the killer took the watch and the pin and placed them. That would make him real clever. But I go with Occam’s razor. Cheri Jo fought hard and ripped it off.

Hi Mr. Lowe- Where have you read that they found the pin from the watch band? I had never heard that before, so to refresh my memory I just reviewed a bunch of info on her case, including several articles, forums, and the limited police reports and FBI files that have been released, but could not find any mention of the pin. Nor is it shown in any of the photos of the watch, including both the crime scene photo and the evidence photo.

Sorry Suzie. I have jumped to a conclusion from another post, regarding the dislogement of the pin. Which would make you wonder did the police look for it. If they did not then poor police work. Hard to find but important at the same time.. I will keep looking.
Cheers

No worries, I’ll keep looking as well.

If they did find the pin at the scene that definitely would increase the probability that it was in fact broken at that location. Don’t get me wrong, I agree that there is a good possibility that it came from the killer; however I don’t want to discount that it came from someone else, such as a construction worker on campus. If it did in fact came from the killer and the killer was one of the known suspects you would think that they would obtain information about that person missing a watch, but then again how often do you look at people’s watches. I can pretty much guarantee you that if I came to work tomorrow wearing a different watch no one would notice.

The reason i posted the Zeus watch up is its on my POI facebook site as a "like" (not sure if thats the right terminology) the other interesting "like" is a town car hood ornament 1990 -1997, Sorta spooky on a facebook page with not much on it. Think ill go check the locks on the doors.

Wonder how many of you zodiac chasers will part with your hard earned to buy a watch from the invicta Zeus range.. I think sales will sky rocket. I might ask for a commision.

Just found your POI on FB and yes, that is creepy about the watch logo, and also saw the towncar photo he liked on ebay.

It states on his timeline "Just what I wanted" and then links to this page http://www.ebay.com/sch/sis.html?_nkw=1990%2091%2092%2093%2094%2095%2096%2097%20Town%20Car%20Hood%20Ornament%20NEW%20B&_itemId=300864414661

Very, very odd!

In the late eighties I attended and sometimes sold at pocket / wrist watch shows . the guy who got me interested and i loaned money to buy sometimes came up to show me a zodiac /seawolf watch ,asked if i wanted to buy it . It looked well worn ,scratched up some
I only payed like $30 -50 for this grade of wrist watch then ,he said no it’s $95 and he thought it was a good buy ,I said why what’s special about it ?

the watch was found about ten feet from her body. the interesting thing is the scene was described as not showing signs of a significant struggle so it seems odd that the watch would have come off so far away from her body. it would make more sense if it was found under her, etc. it’s hard to tell from the crime scene photos because the depth perception is off on several, but her body seems pretty far from the street in a dark lane between two abandoned houses. he must have forced her to comply as there’s no way her alarm bells wouldn’t be ringing as soon as they stepped off the street into that lane/alley and there’s no way there wouldn’t be drag marks, etc. considering that situation i find it odd that the watch was found so far from the body and that the killer didn’t bother to pick it up, not to mention its orientation seems perfectly placed face up. just my 2 cents.

Ya got that backwards masootz.

There actually was signs of a struggle. Reports say the ground was pretty churned up where she fought.

The Confession letter stated there was no struggle, but there was.
