Maybe someone has a copy without the watermark?

There’s a newspaper photo I found that’s almost the same angle as the composite, but the scan is terribly fuzzy…it’s somewhere in my mess of Zodiac-related PDFs, I’ll post it if I can find it.

It turns out that I found two pictures, similar to the left-side pic in Seagull’s post above.

San Mateo Times 10/12/1971 & Oakland Tribune 11/7/1971

Ohhhh Wilbur. Interesting to see what X looked like back then.

Lunches is an interesting book, more so than the autobiography. For instance, there is a section that emphasizes how KQ liked to cultivate the media. It also states that he used to supply Herb Caen with cars whenever Caen went to the UK. It also reveals that the first article the Chron ever wrote about KQ’s business endeavors was on August 1, 1947. 1 Aug-69 was the date on which Z demanded they print the cipher sections. That date also has to do with EVB’s crazy marriage story in like 1962 but I think you’ll agree that the overall case against KQ is MUCH stronger than Stewart’s. That is, of course, in addition to Z murdering on the date KQ’s mother died (December 20th) and the date his father was born (September 27th).

Mike

I try to be a POI agnostic, but Q fascinates me more than most.

Further on in LUNCHES, KQ claimed that he opted out of his father’s profession precisely because drinking was part of the job. Of course, it’s not unknown for celebs to endorse things they don’t use, but KQ seemed so eager to project the image of a teetotaler in LUNCHES that it’s rather baffling he would have agreed to this.

Almost looks like "Kill." Must be the dot over the "e." ;)

Actually…I just looked at my signed copy of his autobio and he did the same thing there. First time I’ve noticed. :? Did he habitually put the dot over the "e"?

A lower case "j" is typically dotted! The second letter in his first name is a j. I think it just shows that Qvale doesn’t always put the dot over the letter it belongs to.

Lol, that photo with Denise McCluggage brings back memories. That was one of the first photos I ever saw of KQ in June 1999. I remember trying to figure out how long people’s forearms were and how tall that helmet was to use them as scales to estimate KQ’s height. Ken Narlow got me KQ’s DL info shortly thereafter and ended the speculation. Ah, the good old days…

Thanks Mike. For some reason I always thought he was taller than that.
