Over the years, the Zodiac killings have attracted many books and/or family members pinning the murders on somebody. Other than Graysmith and Allen, do you see any of these candidates as viable or intriguing? If so, which one(s), and why?
No.
ha, same.
I should have put a smiley face or something. haha I can appreciate the question, just had to offer a blunt answer.
Ah! You’ve rubbed one of my sore spots! I hate, loathe, and despise those cowards who finger deceased relatives. I recall a noted–and particularly wealthy–TV personality who once blamed her parents, or perhaps just her father, of child abuse, which allegedly resulted in all kinds of personality/psychological problems she suffered. Well, if the alleged abuse was responsible for her alleged problems, wouldn’t it also be responsible for her definitely unalleged fame and wealth?
I, too, loathe the family accusations. It’s hard to wrap my head around how people can be so damaged as to finger a family member publically for the murders with such slim evidence. Obviously, the true Zodiac did have a family, at least at some point in his life but even if I thought that one of my family members was the killer I would be a whole lot more discreet than some of these people have been.
No one has written a book that I know of but I will admit to being intrigued by the Bob Tarbox suspect, whoever he is!

I think part of the reason I am a bit intrigued with Tarbox’s suspect is the anonymity of him.
Although not without faults, I still think that Kelleher’s books are the best I’ve read. But he doesn’t name his POI in his Zodiac book. I’m not really even sure if he has one. I heard that he did, but I haven’t ever heard anything about him.
In Suspect Zero he makes it seem pretty clear cut that ALA is the Santa Rosa killer, but the book contains acknowledged fictions, so I’m not really sure what the point is there? I don’t get the impression that he believes that to be true.
I personally am up in the air about Tarbox’s story, but as far as books by Relatives,NO. Stewart wrote a book about his biological Father who he never really met.For him,I think it was a chance to make a few $ off his Father, who was an unsavory Person, who he had no love for anyway. But others who have come forward, even if not writing a book, Perez(I think she was just bonkers),Kaufman(I think he wanted to profit),none of them interests me. If only Ross’s Brother would write a book-that’s one I would buy
Guys like Steve Hodel, who was a cop I might add, that try to connect his Father to every crime under the sun-I definitely don’t think he was Z. I think there are various reasons, for various People to make the claims.
There is more than one way to lose your life to a killer

Money and some sort of sick recognition. I do think there are a (very) select few who actually believe their claims.
