hi
does anyone out there think he’s still alive and kicking?I tend to think he’s not because it’s hard to imagine him giving up living a regular life, but I suppose it’s not impossible.I’d be interested to hear people’s thoughts
Egan, I personally think the Zodiac is long dead. I think he probably died around 1975.
thanks for reply.like you I think he probably is dead, but I’d be interested why you think mid-seventies.do you have an individual in mind?

I agree, probably died or was incarcerated around 1974 or 1975, possibly as early as 1971.
Two movies were released in 1971 that received no attention whatsoever from the Bay Area killer.
One month after the Los Angeles letter of March 13th 1971, a Zodiac film was released on April 7th directed by Tom Hansen, and later that year the blockbuster ‘Dirty Harry’ movie, based on the Zodiac Killer, was released on December 23rd 1971 directed by Don Siegel. In fact the Zodiac Killer remained quiet for nearly three years.
It would seem unimaginable that a killer who so craved attention and publicity would fail to capitalize on such a feast in his name, yet three years later he comments on a film that’s nothing to do with him, the Exorcist.
Either the 1974 letters weren’t from Zodiac, or he was indisposed, likely incarcerated from 1971 to 1974.
My guess is he likely died a sad lonely life in an 8 by 8 cell, and good riddance to him.
UK spycatcher what an excellent post.out of everything I’ve read or watched on the zodiac so far,I’ve not come across that point about the two films.there’s no way he’d have not made capital out of them.he certainly must have been incapable of writing at that time.your last point about good riddance is kind of why I posted the question.while also thinking he must be dead,I thought if there’s any chance he’s still alive it would be nice if we could catch the sick b**tard

The possibility is that he didn’t respond to either film because they portrayed him in a very unflattering light.
My POI, RH (yeah, I’m a Bates guy), is 71 years old, and lives in the northwest.
I am very interested right now in Tom Hanson’s suspect. Tom directed the 1971 Zodiac film. I imagine even is suspect is a long shot.
If it isn’t Tom’s POI I think the Zodiac died undetected. Perhaps his relatives covered up the evidence in order not to shame themselves. There’s so many possibilities, but I think Zodiac didn’t live out the Seventies. I never saw the point in the Zodiac writings in 1974.
He is still out there.
He is still out there.
Love it when that is someone’s first post. Quit trying to tease.
I do think it quite possible he is alive and well. It’s all a guessing game.
I think he’s dead,and I hope I am proven wrong,but I don’t think this case will be solved
There is more than one way to lose your life to a killer

He Gone
He’s alive and serving life without parole for being the Unabomber.
He is still out there.
I agree with "YourSecretPal", but I think that being the coward we all know Zodiac is, that he is too afraid of today’s technology to show himself like he did in the late 60’s through the 70’s. If he wasn’t, he would prove that he is still alive by sending in Stine’s wallet or drivers license even a small part of Stine’s bloody shirt, or some other memento belonging to another "known" victim.
He could write a note telling of something that only he and the police know. Perhaps information of one of the other possible victims?
If he did any of that, all of Calif. would be so scared and the headlines would be none stop! He would then top the infamous Jack The Ripper, which I think would delight Zodiac to be able to do.
I think there is a minimally decent chance he is still among us..i dont know where to place the odds though…i do think z might have been in a car club…i also toss around the idea z may have been japanesse american decent…..mikado was a car club back in early 60’s too in LA area…heck, what do i have to lose at this point…so far z is the winner
