According to The Daily Mail, a London newpaper – unfortunately not the most reputable one, but not a tabloid all the same – is reporting that DNA has confirmed the identity of Jack the Ripper to be Aaron Kosminski. It looks like the greatest cold case of all time is finally solved. This better not be a hoax or misinformation, because it’s hopeful news.

If it turns that the forensic world agree with these findings (and on the surface it looks good) then lots of bad guys will be sweating up, knowing that very old DNA may finally catch them.
This might be what blows the case wide open, but I don’t know about this. I think his DNA evidence should be peer reviewed. I do hope this is correct and the case can finally be put to rest.
It should be noted that the only thing new about this new book is the DNA results. This was one of the original Ripper suspects back in 1888. So it would be pretty like if the Zodiac case was solved and it turned out to be Rick Marshall or someone that everyone already knew about. Yeah it would be a huge deal, but not exactly a shock.
As far as this being true, I won’t hold my breath until the official press release.
Also Holy Hell JTR DNA? There are a lot of people on here who doubt we can have uncontaminated Z DNA from 40 years ago, let alone over a century. And would this perhaps be the same DNA that Cornwell used from a likely hoax letter to "match" her suspect… and a few thousand or so other men in Europe.

What if Aaron had received services from that lady, minutes before impotent Jack the Ripper came and cut the organs out of her? Kosminski was a suspect, true, but I hope he was a suspect in at least two but only one cases. Otherwise the DNA on her scarf could’ve been quite normal, considering her profession..

Not holding my breath on this one…..would like to know how many different DNA markers that did NOT match his they found on the scarf. She was a prostitute….likely there were PLENTY of other contributions on the scarf as well. Now if his was the ONLY one then I would lend this a bit more of an ear.
