Bravi!!!
Nothing about the hunters as potential suspects? I might start with those guys.
The hunters have each other as an alibi, and they were not there when witness James Owen saw the car there that most likely was Zodiac

I’ve only heard the "Lake Herman Road" episode and I can already tell this is the most thorough and coherent discussion of the case that I have encountered. And I have read many books, listened to several podcasts on this topic.
Excellent work! I listen while programming… every now and then I will name a variable in your honor!
That was too much!
RE: Blue Rock Springs
Mageaux not hearing gunshots. "Gun deafness" does happen when a person’s head is very close to the weapon’s discharge.
A victim of Robert Lee Yates Jr. who escaped thought Yates had hit her on the head with a crowbar. He had in reality shot her point blank with a hand gun. She never heard the gunshot and did not realize she had been shot.
Apparently the eardrum suffers trauma before the actual sounds get recorded by the brain… or something.
That was too much!
I’m really enjoying the podcasts. Especially your pragmatic approach. Looking forward to hearing the next one.
If anybody cannot understand my English accent, we can add subtitles to the podcast
Your accent is very nice! Both You & Morf have great voices & style for these Pod Casts.
Thank you for all that you both do!!

Could you describe the necklace Mrs. Swindle’s sister stated disappeared? Was it by any chance a blue cameo with a mirror on the back with a silver-tone frame and chain?
Great podcasts guys. Looking forward to the next one.
A thought on Darlene’s car being in first gear. Do we know if it was a an automatic or a manual (stick shift)? Both models were available I believe. Reason for asking is that, if it was a manual, maybe her handbrake wasn’t great and she used first gear to hold the car in park. Also, it’s not that uncommon for people to turn off the car and leave it in gear. She may have then turned the car back to ‘on’ to have the radio on. Also, was the car not facing away from the road at that stage? In which case, reverse would have been the gear used to escape. I’m not 100% on either of those points so interested to get your views.
Parking a stick in 1st is standard practice, unless you’re idling the engine.
The report only says "the ignition was in the on position." Seems they would note if the engine was still running, but the wording is iffy. A stick would stall in 1st unless Darlene was somehow able to keep the clutch down the entire time. It would be out of gear, but unlikely to roll on a level surface. An automatic on "1" with the engine running would have probably crashed into the fence.
Episodes 1 & 2 of Zodiac Speaking are available right now!

I was a little surprised by the uncertainty over this as well. If you want to listen to the radio, you need to have the ignition switch set to "ON". It is also correct that the switch will return to the "ON" position after startup.
In a manual transmission vehicle you have two options when parked, leave the vehicle in gear, or in neutral. There are arguments for both, leaving it in gear provides additional engine braking and is preferred when parking on hills, leaving the vehicle in neutral avoids accidental stalling during startup. The fact that it was left in first gear doesn’t say much. I personally park in neutral, but people I know that leave the vehicle in gear, normally just leave it in the last gear that was used. The fact that it was left in 1st would imply that 1st was the last gear used, but you may well move into first as you slow down and pull into the parking space, or you might stay in a higher gear and coast into the parking space, it’s hard to hard to say.
One of the guys I work with usually has his work ute (pickup) in 3rd when I hop in, suggesting that he enters the parking lot in 3rd and then coasts into a space with his foot on the clutch and brake and then switches off still in 3rd.
I still don’t think you can infer much from it, as there is nothing odd about sitting parked in first gear with the ignition set to "ON" listening to the radio. But it is also true that it is also the state in which you would likely find the vehicle if someone was about to drive off. What can be said of it?
do we have info of the date when episode 3 will be released please ???
