I’m not worried about Zodiac stalking me, but others out there who may disagree with me? That’s another story.

If I am ever missing or killed, I think most of you know who to look for. ;)

LOL, I can think of a couple people you might be referring to

Good Rule! Every once in awhile, I forget that rule & I’m sure I shock some of my new friends. My old friends, get it & get me, my personality. But in Cali when I talk about it, I sometimes hear some strange Z like stories from my friends.

If Zodiac ever joined a Z forum, I’m sure he would have been banned for not following forum rules. Zam’s/Quote

It’s not really a hobby for me. It’s an interest.

Phil, that’s what we all told ourselves, at first. Mwwwwaaaahahahahahaha.

Zam – I thought for a moment you were saying that an interest in Zodiac is too crazy for people in California to understand.
I was genuinely worried there, for a second.

Zodiac is not really a "hobby" for me, so I don’t talk to many people about it. But, with the job I have, I don’t think people would be surprised. Not to mention, the music I listen to and the obsession I have with serial killers.

Don’t get too worked up over the term hobby. I know that the phrase generally means a fun or pleasurable activity, but it also means work or study that is done for personal interest instead of for payment or gain, which I think does apply to most of us here.

Duck, people are interested in true crime. If you have cable or satellite TV there are at least a half a dozen true crime shows on at any one time. Somebody is watching all those shows!

That’s what I told my wife and it seemed to work. She still thinks it’s a bit weird when I’m looking after our kids and we’ve got In the Night Garden on TV whilst I’m sat next to it looking at autopsy photos on the internet (monitor out of kids’ view obviously).
Other people aren’t so sure, they seem to think that the extra effort required to log onto a website and search for true crime is somehow more weird than wanting to watch those shows or read a true-crime book. Change is inevitable however and , just like porn, online will become the norm whilst paper and video fall by the wayside.
Good thread

I love this poster, the tagline sums up my Zodiac case addiction. ‘There’s more than one way to lose your life to a killer’. This forum is our ‘support group’. Raise your hands if like me, you are as addicted to this case as Robert Graysmith in the movie

I’m only here for the ciphers. And the friends I have made in this community.

Yep that’s it. I’m not addicted at all. I could stop at any time I wanted to.

Exactly Glurk, only not made any friends … :|
But the ciphers are actually fascinating (not the zodiac only) but learning about chords. I’m not really for SLA afther life of infamous Z

This thread cracks me up. We might have a weird hobby, obsession, passion… whatever you want to call it, but at least most of us got a healthy sense of humor about it.

Frankly, I don’t see anything to be embarrassed about. It surprises me more people aren’t into this. I think we’re all on the right side; we all want to see justice served. But yeah, I get really strange looks when I tell people I’m into Zodiac (and not the astrology chart). And I get the distinct impression my friends do not like it when I talk about it. So, thank God for this forum.

My favorite comment is Morf’s. Saying his wife’s afraid z will seek him out. I’d say he’d thank you for keeping the legend alive.. and then he’d kill you.

Ducking:

How about:

"One of my hobbies is researching the case of the Zodiac killer?" I don’t think people would be so freaked out with that!

I have heard that people who investigate old crimes are really those who are messing with peoples lives. Rather negative statement don’t you think? I mean its true, technically. But I rather look upon it as helping people. Giving family closure. Giving the victims their identity back instead of having them reduced to a number or the status of being one of his (the Zodiacs in this case). Can you imagine what things would be like if we just all turned away?

Soze

If a Family member of mine was murdered, I would think that I would be very happy to have websites dedicated to trying to catch the killer

Agreed.

I mentioned to a buddy once how I was into this case, and he asked me why would I care when the maniac is probably dead or so old, there would be no point in convicting him anyway. But I don’t see it like that. Even if Z is dead, identifying him would bring some closure to the victims’ families. And as time goes on, and we get access to more FBI files, it might be the Z hunters on the web tgat finally piece it all together.
