What do people think about cameras everywhere?

Cellphone cameras and "Go-Pros" are everywhere. People have them, drones have them, Police have them.

And now, even murderers have them, in live-action POV.

At times, there have been efforts to stop this. But with the advances of technology and miniaturization, it is just unstoppable. When the day comes that a video camera is so tiny that it can be embedded in a person’s glasses (that day is already here) any possible interactions or events are likely to be recorded.

I’m no Luddite, I like technology. But this changes things.

Thoughts, anyone?

Perhaps there will be an arms race of devices that somehow quietly "jam" all the smart phones and cameras.

Yes, like there are forced ISP blocks of "The Pirate Bay" and etc… We all know who is going to win here, and it won’t be the "jammers," LOL.

A few high-powered EMPs should take care of all the nearby cameras. :)

I’d rather not comment on what could be a political topic. I’m probably being filmed right now.

here’s an amusing article about people trying to beat the eye in the sky.

Yep, it’s a game changer. Personally, I think there will be 3 main population groups reacting to this in different ways…

1. Young people raised on "social media" relationships & exposure – that embrace & accept it.
2. A constituency of mainly "more-mature" people who start to distance themselves more and more from the bullshit elements of technology.
3. Commercial enterprises, Criminals, Law Enforcement and Local/National Govt. i.e. the very groups that most need to be kept watch of on-camera, they will expand their use so as to increase the amount of misery they can subject Mr & Mrs Joe Public to.

(( edited for grammar ))

I think history has exposed us to changes that were made along the way that many people didn’t like, but eventually had to accept.

As with most things, there are pros and cons. People being video taped by law enforcement–some won’t like it, but it also will hold many in LE themselves accountable for their actions.

Cameras on the streets have caught criminals.

Cameras in dressing rooms? Violation! I have been told since I was quite young some stores do that.

They aren’t going anywhere, so behave and beware…and don’t pick your nose. 8-)

…they may be dealing with one or more ersatz Zodiacs–other psychotics eager to get into the act, or perhaps even other murderers eager to lay their crimes at the real Zodiac’s doorstep. L.A. Times, 1969

These cameras all over are one reason Z would never get away with his crimes today.

We have seen many examples of abductions, attacks, etc that were solved in part due to all these cameras. Big Brother may be watching to an extent, but as for me personally,I am not doing anything wrong,so I have nothing to hide

Sure, there’s probably a traffic cam at wash and cherry, but are there really cameras at the other Zodiac spots today? I kind of doubt that.

Not saying at BRS,or LHR, but in general. Cameras at most lights. Maybe there’s one around the Napa car wash for example. How many times today do we see crimes happen, and they pull all area surveillance tape? I think Z would be caught due to this

When I started this thread, I was NOT speaking specifically about "surveillance cameras," although they are becoming more and more frequent. I really meant – as I said – "cameras everywhere" and the ubiquity of them.

A person I know (who is not a terrorist, LOL) was stopped and questioned by police for filming a city skyline (which has a bridge across the river.) It was for a short documentary film for YouTube, but someone thought it was ‘suspicious’ and called the police. In the end, nothing came of it, and she was allowed to film.

Another incident I read about was a person wearing "Google Glass" being detained and questioned by "Homeland Security" for watching the movie whilst wearing the device. Story here:

http://variety.com/2014/digital/news/am … 201066149/

And now we have someone with a gun in one hand and a cellphone camera in the other, killing people. And the video, from the shooter’s POV, is online. I’m not going to link to that, but it’s out there.

I have no solution for this ‘problem’ so to speak, but with cameras everywhere, we not only see crimes happening, we now see them directly from the criminal’s POV. It just changes things, IMO.

The Boston Marathon bombings are a good example.

A good example of what? Don’t you remember people on reddit and on here looking over the footage and pointing out two "suspects" which were both innocent bystanders that had nothing to do with it?
