@quicktrader From his cousin’s account in the article she wrote in 1999. Unlikely he was a candidate for Riverside, since he was apparently in Atascadero State Hospital at that time.
Bokin does seem like a strong match for the Santa Rosa murders. Practically identical MO and a close geographic proximity at the time.
Some apparent facts of interest:
Bokin grew up in the Mission District of San Francisco where his parents owned a hardware store.
He was a reported child chess and piano prodigy.
His uncle (Ted Lusher) was an SFPD Inspector.
In the mid-60s he was sentenced to Atascadero State Hospital (no apparent overlap with Arthur Allen).
Indications are he killed his mother while she was in a care facility in Marin County.

He reportedly hired a convict to assault an SF building inspector who was failing his plumbing work.

He fashioned a homemade handcuff key and during his trial unlocked his cuffs and leg shackles and briefly escaped his holding cell, with the bailiffs and judge running down the hall after him.
His cousin credited him with introducing her to philosophy, physics and Rachmaninov.
The San Francisco and Belli ties are interesting, and Bokin having refined academic and cultural interests while being a serial killer is quite Zodiac-like. He’s described as having a “stocky” appearance which ties in with witness descriptions and he was in his late 20s in 1968-9. Though of course the sexually-motivated nature of his crimes, including before 1968, diverges from Zodiac. Either way it’s good to hear about another cold case being solved and a possible resolution in the Santa Rosa cases.
Any more news on the SR hitchhiker suspect? I know Zodiac was not one of their suspects, for whatever reason? I do believe he did some, the ones who were not raped. Victim Eva Blau’s father owned a company that my RH suspect worked at in Oakland. Odd coincidence?
