Zodiac most certainly wrote letters to the papers under his own identity probably before and after his crime spree. The murderous persona of Zodiac would not suddenly invent this human proclivity.

So did Zodiac’s Vril Dox get any of his screeds published in any local rags? It is an interesting angle.

I know of at least one investigator who went WAAAY down the rabbit hole with this technique. He did a lot of unnecessary damage in the process.

@jacob I read about “Hauser” at your suggestion. He could definitely be considered a viable person of interest. He conforms to the general profile of Z, but currently there is nothing that would directly link him to the crimes.
