I am sure this has ben mentioned somewhere but here goes..
Do we assume that zodiac is wearing wigs or are the witnesses just mistaken.
Mageau described his hair as "curley."
I believe Hartnell said he could see his hair through the hood and it was greasy.
Stine witnesses have a different description of his hair all together as seen by the sketches.
However, he might have changed his hair when Hartnell survived and gave a description.
They all seem to agree on that Z was stocky.
Yep. It has been discussed a bunch.
Vallejo and SF…I can work with. LB. Nope. Others will chime in with their reasoning…many of us will never agree.

Well he dressed for the occasion at LB. I think he really wanted an immediate reaction from whoever he would attack that day. He didn’t get it. That had to upset him. He left his calling card on Bryan’s door. Whether he was the same person the 3 gals saw a couple hours earlier, I would sure like to think so. the thought that 2 strange people were virtually in the same region within a couple hours would make it even creepier. Why would Z allow the gals to see him for so long, then do his thing a couple miles away, and not think LE would make the connection? If it was Z they saw then the hair change makes perfect sense. I’ve always felt Z probably had to be sweating a bit under that hood. Always reminded me of Halloween when you wore a mask in the cool of the evening in late October, you constantly had to take the mask off. So I think when Bryan says his hair was greasy, it may have just been sweaty.

Makes good sense. Hadn’t thought about the sweaty hair.
May have been both. If you take into consideration the three girls said it was "styled" (and you think they saw Zodiac), then the hair might have been greased–and the fact Hartnell mentioned it too "combed"…"greasy". Sweat would definitely makes sense too.

Longish hair for the first three murders.
Then a hair cut.
Then the Stine Murder.
I agree with this.
No one knows about the first murders…2nd was curly and blonde. Totally different at LB…then back to S.F. which sounds more like BRS with a crew-cut.

Longer hair could be cut shorter by a later crime scene. Unless you where a skull cap or makeup you cant hide longer hair to look shorter.
Bottom line is this, the kids at SF & Fouke clearly saw Z with no hood and without a light shining in their eyes as they were being shot,and what they saw resulted in the sketch we have. Certainly their sighting has to hold some water

There’s a very slight difference in hair colour but blondeish brown and reddish brown are close enough in my book given different lighting, a probable haircut and hair products. I think that’s the average description we have to give most weight to.

I never understood why people got so hung up on the differences in the descriptions. I don’t see any reason why they could not describe the same person. The details are minor things that no one would be able to describe with better accuracy given the conditions.
